“Lovely hotel just no air con!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 June 2012

I stayed in the Premier Inn for 2 nights on some of the hottest days in May. The room was large, bright and clean. The bed was huge and comfortable and the bathroom was adequate. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the restaurant was much better than I expected! The only problem was my room was on the 7th floor and the air con didn't work. There was a long wall of windows in the room which didn't open and by the end of the day the room was unbearably hot which made it difficult to sleep. The staff provided a fan which didn't help much, just blew the hot air around. I would stay here again just not when it's hot!

Room Tip: Try and book on the first or second floor where the air con works!

Stayed at a few hotels in Manchester and considering this is a budget hotel it has by far been the best stay. Close to the shops and some bars the hotel is clean, rooms comfortable and staff helpful and friendly will stay again.

Room Tip: If you want a quite room ask for one on the higher floors, no traffic or air con unit noise.

My daughter and I always stay at a Premier Inn when we go on a shopping trip to Manchester, usually whichever one has a £29 room available.
This is one of the older and slightly shabbier ones, but the rooms are clean and adequate.
The location is very good for the MEN and shops and restaurants.
The breakfast buffet is excellent and kids under 16 eat free when with a paying adult, making 2 breakfasts for £8.25 very good value.
What really made the stay for me was the friendly and helpful staff. The reception staff were great, and the staff who were on at breakfast were just lovely, helpful, friendly efficient, they are a credit to the hotel.
Would recommend the hotel to any one for a short break.

We fancied a night away in Manchester and managed to find a room here for £29. It was close to Manchester Victoria station and all of the main attractions in Manchester. The hotel was lovely inside: a restaurant, a bar (which allowed drinks to the room), quick check in (with a choice of which floor) and nice size room. We weren't disturbed by any noise and the bed was really comfortable. Overall really pleased with the stay.

Stayed at this hotel on the 4th June 2012 and only paid £19 so really wasnt expecting much at all, But was pleasntly surprised:

Hotel parking - safe, spacious, FREE!

Location- Spot on, everything you could want within walking distance, arndale shopping centre and the town centre litterally a 2 minute walk, plenty of bars/ restaurants, great location! There are some road works going on around the hotel at the minute, we didnt hear anything within our room at all, the only down side it had wsa getting into the hotel/city centre, theres alot of work going on so some roads closed etc but plenty of diversions, we didnt get lost at all but thats the only negative i can find anyway!

food- cannot comment as we didnt eat in the restaurant or have breakfast there, plenty of cafes around that offer it much cheaper.

Room: very spacious! i hate hotel rooms that offer no room at all, this is the total opposite, bed was huge and very comfotable, extra pillows stored at the top of the wardrope if needed, 3 mirrors (another one of my frustrations with hotels) all very clean, quiet, heard no noise at night at all (we were on 3rd floor) bathroom good size, had a little bit of a smell in the bathroom, not sure what it was though.

basically for under £30 in the city centre this is a great hotel! i would definatly go back without hesitation.

Room Tip: request floor 3 upwards just to avoid any noise if there is some, there are lifts.
