I didnt want to spend a lot of money to put my head down for a few hours - I had been to the Races at Aintree on a Thursday and needed to be in Manchester for work at 9am on the Friday morning :-(

I paid £50 for a clean room with fairly modern, if basic amenities. The room was on the first floor at the back of the hotel ...so it back onto a small alley way.

6am i was woken to a rubbish wagon collecting bottles! To be fair this is standard in Manchester - its happened to me at the Arora on Princess Street ---- thats they price you pay for a central location!

If I was a tourist - why would I stay here:

1. Near Oxford Road for Palace Theatre & Cornerhouse Cinema
2. 10mins walk from The Opera House Theatre
3. Clean and value for Money in city centre
4. 3 mins walk to Canal Street and China Town

You are not to close to the shops - I would say 10-15mins walk through the safest and busiest parts of Manchester.

Room Tip: Avoid 147 unless you like early mornings!!!

Had an experience with other budget hotels then I decided to book with PremierInn and really found exceptional. Really nice and quiet night for the city centre. Really clean and tighty, warm welcome by the staff.
Highly recommended.

Surprisingly quiet for city centre. Nice clean room and very friendly helpful staff.

Room Tip: back of hotel probably quietest.

For £29 on a Saturday night in Manchester this hotel was a bargain! OK, it's not as plush as others in the area, nor does it provide any flash facilities, but if you catch their website quickly you can grab a bargain - a bed to rest after a night out in Manchester.

Good budget hotel very conveniently located a short walk from buses, Arndale Centre, railway museum, Manchester Museum, Museum Art Gallery, Town Hall, University, restaurants. Full breakfast was good but dinner menu a bit lacklustre. Broadband available. TV gets all Freeview channels. Hotel was remarkably quiet despite being in a busy part of town. Staff very helpful and considerate. Unfortunately the hotel does not have air conditioning despite having windows that cannot be opened, so it felt stuffy in our room. The lighting in our room seemed rather dim. If you are looking for a good meal out we recommend the Giorgio Italian restaurant across the street. There are numerous Chinese and other restaurants within a short distance. Tip: you can use the free shuttle bus number 3 to get to Manchester Piccadilly station. The stop is around the corner in Princess Street.
