Room 375 faces the court yard which is quiet, however there were kids running up & down the corridors at night screaming & shouting. If you are a family staying here please do not let your children behave in this way! It's not fair on people who want the Quiet Area. Overall the room was new & clean with a large Samsung TV flat screen. 370+ Recommended for single/couples who want to relax. Lovely cotton sheets & choice of pillows. Bring your own wine is recommended as bar prices are high. :)

Stayed here Christmas 2013 and again in March 2014 on premier inn's special rates that come out every so often. Both times staff have been very helpful, the rooms have been clean and a reasonable size and as it is premier inn, you know what you are going to get. Whenever the special rates come out we always try to get an overnight stay in somewhere and due to this location we like to stay here. Close to some great restaurants, we went to Wetherspoons for breakfast as it was cheaper (although not better it has to be said). Would recommend this hitel to anyone.

We booked this hotel before we were aware of the parade through Manchester, which did not affect our stay. The staff at this Hotel are friendly, the room was up to normal standards, but looking some what tired and i do believe some refurbishments are taking place? The breakfast was very good and the breakfast area reminded you of your own kitchen area. We will be returning.

Thank you for your lovely review regarding your stay with us at Portland street premier inn

Its nice to hear you had a great stay with us on one of our busiest weekends and its pleasing to know this did not effect your stay. As you have mentioned in your review we are currently under going a refurbishment of the hotel so be sure to ask for a newly refurbished room on your next visit.

We look forward to welcoming you back to Manchester very soon

I originally book a different Premier Inn in Manchester, at £139 for the night - but I kept checking their webste every day the week before we were due to stay, this one appeared at £99 for the night - that's why I love Premier Inn because you can cancel up till 1pm of the day of your visit. so I booked Portland Street and cancelled the other one saving myself £30.

We arrived around 4pm on the Saturday afternoon - reception is small and it was busy - so I went to the Automated Check in, this was great all checked in, paid for key cards in under 5 minutes. Our room was a family Room 267, nice big room with a double bed, single and a put me up - the mattress on the put me up was very hard though, it didn't have the mattress the other beds have on them. You could hear the road from the room but as its on a busy cross-roads in Manchester it wasn't too bad - the location for City Centre and Deansgate was great though.

The Car Park is a Q Car Park Piazza, 75 St James Street, Manchester M1 4LX - which when you leave reception you ask for a discount card which gives you 30% of the 24hrs parking which is £20 normally - so it will cost a guest £14.

We paid for breakfast - this was well cooked, hot, plentiful and always topped up. Check out was easy.

I have rung the hotel since as I though I had left my diary in the room, which was important to me, the staff have been really helpful and have looked but not found it :(

I would recommend this Premier Inn for a City Centre Stay.

This was a large room and very comfortable however I thought that the bathroom was a little outdated. Staff really nice and rooms were quiet. Good location for china town and the shopping centre. 5 mins walk from oxford road station. Has restaurant however wetherspoons around the corner for a cheaper alternative, especially breakfast.

This premier inn, is in the ideal location with parking round the corner at q-park piazza which is discounted by 30% at reception.
The staff are very friendly and can't do enough for you
We booked breakfast here for every day of our stay and it was very nice, set us up for the whole day.
Although there are renovations being done, its a very quite hotel apart from the odd noisy guest, On Friday 9th may they had a large group of scots in, who where very rowdy and at one point security had to get involved to quieten them down. luckily they left Saturday.
We got offered our money back under the good nights stay guarantee (which we accepted) but it's not premier inns fault that some people have no respect for other guests sleep.
If ever we come back to Manchester, we'll definitely be stopping here again.
