“Good but not great!”
Reviewed 9 March 2014 via mobile

Stayed here for one night with my partner.
Location: very central, 5 mins walking from picadilly station, arndale, chinatown and various bars, resturants.
Hotel: on first impression, lovely friendly staff. Slightly dated in areas, mainly stair cases and decor.
Rooms: we stayed on 8th floor in room 827 which was right at end of corridor, room was generous size and had all that was required, it did however smell very musty. This was due to the amount of MOULD growing on the old double glazing! It stank and was progressing on to the curtains, now normally i would of complained but we were only there one night and i didnt want to waste our time so we chose to ignore it, i do question though how much longer the hotel can though as not only is it a health hazard, the noise through the windows is dreadful and lead to a broken sleep! I have stayed in central london and new york and never experinced such a level of noise! The bathroom also smelt of drains and the shower head is fixed in such a way it is difficult to shower comfortably.
Breakfast was lovely, but quite extorniate.
We were woken in the night by drunken women but must say the hotel dealth with one particualrly angry female very well and we had no need to worry, i must thank whoever complained because the argument was escalating quickly!
Would i stay here again, probably not,
Would i recommend no not really, look elsewhere.

this is the first hotel I have stayed in, in many months, where the bed is actually comfortable! I mentioned to the gentleman on reception on checking out that having spent more times in hotels on business in the last ten months than I have at home, you get very attuned to different mattresses/pillows etc. He explained that the bedding was all new – you can really tell! It was the first full night’s sleep I have had in the last ten months whilst staying at different hotels. What a pleasant surprise.

In addition, every member of staff I encountered was friendly, helpful and nothing was too much trouble.

Dear Guest

Thank you for your review. I was delighted to hear that you had a great night’s sleep. We have indeed just recently completed the roll out of new beds, pillows and duvets across the whole property and although we do appreciate that bed type is down to personal choice, we are pleased to say that we are getting great feedback on their comfort.

Many thanks once again for your feedback and I do hope that we will have the pleasure of welcoming you back again very soon.

Kind regards

Stayed over for one night after being to concert at the MEN. Check in was efficient. We stayed on the 11 th floor overlooking the wheel and picadilly gardens. Room was sound proofed from the outside very well but could hear folk from the room above quite clearly, that's why have rated 4 and not 5. The room was really clean and so was the bathroom, and it had a bath too and not just a shower which is great. Tea and coffee facilities and a very comfortable bed! Perfect. Breakfast was available for £9 per person but we opted for crusty Sarnie from the station for the train journey home. Slightly pricey at £98 per room per night.

Room Tip: 11th floor over looking piccadilly gardens was good.

I have stayed with business partners for one night at this hilarious hotel... It's not a hotel it's a place where you are treated like an idiot! One elevator was broken so it took me up to 20 minutes to get to my room after waiting I. Line for check in another 30 min!!! The room was small and the bed was good but the bathroom was so dirty even the smell disgusting! All in all do not stay in this hotel as all the service from breakfast to reception are trained to make your stay the worst ever!!! I am an Accor gold member and I am absolutely disappointed of this hotel!

The food was really nice. The staff were friendly and the view was good. The beds were comfortable.
On the other hand the reception was on the second floor so the entrance was open for anyone to walk in which is not safe or secure. One of the lifts was broke. The TV did not work properly most channels were missing and it regularly froze. The toilet did not work properly. The air con/heating also did not work and the walls were really thin so could hear the person in the next room talking and was woke up by this. The room was not as clean as it could have been. Overall I would not recommend staying here. A real life faulty towers!!!

Booked the hotel for two nights as we were going to see Michael Buble at the Phones 4 U Arena. Checking in was easy reception staff very helpful. Booked a twin room which was clean and had all facilities we needed. Good views over the city as we were on the twelfth floor. Bar and brassiere area very nice and staff helpful. We had a meal there on the second night which was excellent and couldn't be faulted. I see from previous reviews about bar prices but they are what you expect for hotel prices and if you didn't want to pay them them there are places nearby which are cheaper. Would highly recommend for a city break. All the staff were very helpful and professional.

Just stayed at this lovely location city hotel. Very close to the train station and shops, room was a little bit small and bathroom needs refurbishing, (we had a leak in the sink) but the room was very clean. We were staying to see the bubbles concert and it was very easy to get to arena and back even though 10,000 other people around the city were going to it. Drinks in the bar were a little bit expensive but we have come to expect this in hotels. The staff were very good and the breakfast buffet was well worth having.
