Me and my partner stayed for one night to get away. It was a Friday night seemed to be a party at the hotel but once we were in our room it was so quiet it was like staying in the middle of nowhere. The sofa in our room was brill we sat and watched t.v. The bed was very comfortable the best night sleep I had in ages. The shower perfect and service first class. Would definitely stay again and would recommend to all.

Arrived here for Manchester Pride, slow check in but I suppose it was expected due to such a busy weekend- such a strange hotel never been to one where the reception is on 2nd floor. The room was fine, comfy bed, clean bathroom, the only niggles were that we had to share a bath towel as only one was provided and the restaurant is really badly sign posted by the lifts we ended up having to ask a house keeper. I would recommend to arrive for breakfast before 11:30 because there was nothing left... It took a while for a chef to notice too even though there was a queue of people. However the staff were very friendly. One thing I did really appreciate was the fact they held our suitcases for us even after check out while we did a bit of shopping :-)

We stayed here for 1 night whilst in the city to visit Coronation Street. We arrived quite early after our 6am flight & the hotel staff couldn't have been more helpful.

They actually checked us in right away at 8.45am as they had rooms available which was brilliant after such an early start.

We had twin rooms on the 11th floor ample space, clean & rooms with a view! The only part of the rooms needing an update where the bathrooms which where tired.

The hotel is right in the city centre which cost us £27 in rush hour traffic from Manchester airport then only £20 on the return journey.

It overlooks Piccadilly Gardens & right beside is an M&S Simply Food, Tesco & Starbucks which was handy. Also only a few minutes walk from Primark, Debenhams & Arndale Shopping centre with it's array of excellent shops!

We ate in the hotel which was very good & the view was brilliant. All the food was well cooked & good choice we also had breakfast there the next morning which was equally good.

Overall I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking a good city centre location within walking distance to everything.

This is my second time to stay here,
We stayed here for 2 nights in a ‘classic en suite room’, a train from Manchester airport to Piccadilly is £4.20 (single - one way) and takes about 20mins, once you come out of the train station just follow the road straight down and it's about a 5 / 10 min walk away.
The guy on check-in’ was very welcoming and friendly, and explained all about the Free WIFI password, Breakfast, what was on in the area etc… I can’t remember his name, but I would like him to be recognised as he was very very nice and polite to the couple in front of me while checking them in too, it was nice to see and hear that also he was under pressure (as more people were arriving) that he was able to keep calm and treat each guest personally! (He sounded like he was from Manchester, medium build about 30 ish)
The room was very clean and complete with flat screen TV, Kettle, tea / coffee, hairdryer, the bed and pillows were very comfortable. There was a large safe too that was free to use, i did miss the room not having a fridge.
The bathroom was clean and complete with complimentary toiletries.
There is free WiFi in the rooms and very fast.
This time was had breakfast in our price, which was from 8am – 10am, there’s a large selection of cereals, fruits, breads & pastries and a great selection of hot food too. We were very happy with the selection, and the breakfast area too, the restaurant is really nice!
The location is perfect, i would stay here for my next trip to Manchester next year for the 3rd time, because of where it’s located and the comfort of the beds, I certainly noticed an improvement on my stay from last year – good work Mercure!

Room Tip: We stay on the 6th floor, room 623

Spent two nights at the Mercure Piccadilly in Manchester to visit family. Hotel centrally located and we have a lovely over Piccadilly Gardents and to the hills beyond the city. Room very clean and well equpped with a comfy bed even though it seemed a bit short - my feet hung over the end and at 5' 6" I am not that tall! Wonderful shower in our room. We were on the 9th floor and the lifts are incredibly fast. We found drinks in the bar rather expensive even for a central hotel - over £13 for two glasses of wine and one of them was a small one! We did not eat there - again breakfast was expensive and there are plenty of places around to find a cheaper alternative. Staff very friendly and check in was efficient. The hotel has its own car park and once you negotiate the one way system it is easy to park. Overall a pleasant stay.
