“Spacious room, convenient location”
Reviewed 12 August 2011

The hotel is very close to Piccadilly station so convenient location from/to airport etc. The room was spacious and everything was nice except the rather dirty fitted carpet. And the pillows - three choices but none of them good for me.

The reception staff was very friendly.

Breakfast was good with various sorts of fruit etc. but the service was a bit slow. And they asked your room number twice - when taking you to the table, when asking if you want coffee ot tea) - every morning which was a annoying. Once a day is ok.

It was bit odd that the only way to get printouts (e.g. boarding pass after checking-in for home flight in Internet) was to email the printout to the reception.

But, overall, a nice hotel in the heart on Manchester.

With the exception of breakfast our stay was great.

Everything was very clean, shower was great, aircon worked, free wifi was easy to use & the multi-functional Mac in the bedroom is a brilliant idea. Breakfast was poor though, you didn't get much of a cooked breakfast and the smell of fish was pretty strong, my only fault though.

We booked to stay at the Mint Hotel Manchester on Lastminute.com and definitely feel like we got a very good deal that did not seem to have any catches. We were even allowed to take up the offer of a late check-out at no extra cost because we were on a summer rate.

The hotel itself is beautiful, the decor in particular was very nice. The imac inroom entertainment system was a lovely suprise (in particular the complimentary dvd and internet functions since we were staying during the riots of 9/9/11).

We had breakfast included in the room rate and that was very good- a lot of choice and nicely prepared food.

Before making this booking I had read reviews that commented on how good the staff are at this hotel and I am certainly inclined to agree. We felt very welcomed and the response to the rioting in the street outside was reassuring.

Although what was going outside was less than ideal and somewhat ruined our experience of the city, we were still able to have a very good night at this hotel and would like to return again at some point.

Dirty towels, warm not hot food, but staff friendly and helpfull, would I stay again? Given the choice of hotels in Manchester at a similar price, probably not!

I stayed here with a group of friends for the weekend. The Hotel is great and i would stay again. There are plenty of towls in the bathroom even with 2 people sharing. The Apple TV/computer and free internet is great. The breakfasts were good and well stocked.

The only downside to the hotel was the size of the single beds in the twin rooms. I felt as though they were a little small.

I would stay in the hotel again.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights, whilst on business in Manchester. The staff were very polite and helpful. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was nice.
There was a hen party in the hotel the first night we stayed there, so we couldn't get a seat in the bar....2nd night we ate in the hotel restaurant and it was delightful.
Will certainly be going back there.

Stayed here first Friday in August (our 4th or 5th stay).
Experienced the usual slick check in/check out.
The hotel was busy this weekend I was informed - breakfast will be busy 9.30 -11.00, you may have to wait.
With this in mind we arrived for breakfast at 9.15, and had a 5 minute wait.
Staff fantastic as usual, although our Coffee order got lost (we mentioned we had no Coffee after a 10/15 minute wait - the waitress investigated and apologised that the order had been lost). Breakfast itself was another 10 minutes - was ok, but a few glitches (poached eggs ordered 'hard' was runny, haddock in kedegree was a little hard/overcooked)
Rooms were clean and quiet - some room maybe starting to look a little tired (slight stain on the carpet in one room).
Still excellent value for £70 B&B (Laterooms), although there are a couple of hotel I would prefer to stay at in Manchester.
