Love this hotel. Decent price for an amazing experience. Excellent customer service, beautiful room. For my husband and I it was a decent size. The bar was great and the staff were so welcoming. Breakfast was lovely too.

No complaints - will definitely stay again!

We stayed here as part of a British Airways promotion, and were very pleased with the quality and especially with the hotel staff, who had directions and ideas at the ready whenever we asked. The room was spacious and comfortable, and most importantly quiet and clean. The shower door needed seeing-to as it didn't close all the way, but that's a minor detail.

Hotel is conveniently located across from the Picadilly rail station and an easy walk to many of the local sights (and pubs!). The hotel staff was very accommodating and the rooms were a little small but well furnished. We had breakfast in the lobby restaurant, which was very good and reasonably priced.

Great hotel, really helpful staff, especially the guy who looks after parking and guest arrival. great free wi-fi - ALL HOTELS should provide. Only slight let down was the food at the in house restaurant, rather bland. Excellent location, very clean and well presented.

As someone said, location-location-location, nearby Piccadilly gives a easy access from airport to hotel. There is also the metrolink connection. "Mint Hotel" -sign still there.

Good service in the reception, although there was some probs with the reservation. Cookies were great. Bar with good service.

Breakfast was a slight disappointment, didn´t get the english version, even twice requested. Lack of bread and cheese, were not in last hour. No porridge found. Must be this time only according to the level of hotel. Access keys to the room updated twice, in four days.

Excellent internet connections, iMac, Wi-Fi... Clean and modern rooms. Have to give a second chance and choose this again, but this time from the hotel chain, not by some other site.

Dear Lari70,

Thank you for sharing your comprehensive feedback with Tripadvisor. It is great to read and share with the team that you enjoyed your stay.

We are currently in the process of working, with our Executive Chef and Kitchen Teams on the fantastic DoubleTree by Hilton Breakfast and hope this will be introduced very soon! I am sorry it took some time for the breakfast team to meet your request.

We expect the signage to be changed very soon. Unfortunately having this removed is proving a little difficult and I can fully understand and appreciate the confusion this can cause.

We all genuinely do hope we have the opportunity to welcome you back to the hotel. It would be great if you can contact me directly next time you plan to stay - Jack.Appleton@hilton.com. It would be my pleasure to assist with accomodation arrangements.

Best wishes,

Jack

We have stayed at this hotel before when it was the City Inn and the Mint hotel. Little has changed other than the branding on the in room and other literature. Some of the outside signage has been changed but some of the old ones remain. Expect it will all be done soon.

The hotel is very good. The rooms are clean with modern furnishings. The room has an iMac which could be used as a TV. Our view over the steets of Manchester was pleasant. The rate included a complimentary mini bar, hovever the contents were limited.

We used the City Cafe for an excellent Sunday lunch. On this occasion we missed breakfast but on previous visits breakfast was also excellent.

The Piccadilly lounge was very good for drinks and snacks.

On arrival check in was very efficient. Everyone now gets a warm cookie on arrival (tasty). Our rate included a late check out until 6 pm which was very handy.

The hotels main strength is the staff. Every one of them no matter where were pleasant, helpfull and efficient.

One complaint though. The bed was very very hard. We had experienced this here before but thought that Doubletree had changed the beds to more comfortable ones along the lines of Sheraton Sweet Sleeper Beds. That did not seem to be the case in our room where the pillows were also very uncomfortable. Perhaps thats to come.

Other than that a very enjoyable stay.

Had a very enjoyable stay at this hotel.

Staff were all very friendly. Arrived at about 12:30pm and was told none of the rooms were ready yet. So I left my luggage there and went for lunch. Came back about 2pm and went to a different receptionist who was really very welcoming. Was given a nice warm cookie which was nice and also welcomed by the manager, being a Hilton Honors Gold member.

I had a room on the 10th floor at the end of the corridor. Room was a reasonable size and decorated in a very modern way. It looked very new so has probably been newly redecorated. Wi-fi was free and there was an iMac in the room as a TV and also computer. Only complaint was that the room was rather dark at night. Nice to relax but impossible to do any reading in. I was there on business so had some work to do in the room. I called the guest helpline and an extra table lamp was promptly brought up to the room. It was still rather dark though. I think the room would benefit from a floor lamp placed next to the sofa. Also, the lights above the bed could be brighter.

Was invited to a party the hotel was hosting as they were launching a new art collection. It was nice to have some free drinks and music in the lounge.

Breakfast was nice. There was a selection of fruits cut into small pieces, cereal and pastries. Cooked breakfast had to be individually ordered. This did take a bit of time so if you are in a hurry, it might be best to do without this. Also had dinner in the restaurant one night. It was nicely done and the food was good.

Location was very good, just opposite to Piccadilly train station and a short walk to the city centre. Also walked back from the convention centre one day. Free buses from the train station to most parts of the city centre.
