Attending th Muse concert at the Etihad, and as A Hilton Honours member, we'd originally booked the Hilton on Deansgate.
However, on existing Piccadilly stationed passed the Doubletree and recognised it as an ex-City Inn hotel (which we used several times in Birmingham but never in Manhcester). Knowing the sort of hotel this was, and hoping Hilton had at least kept the facilities and standards the same, and given its proximity to both Piccadilly station and being much closer to the Etihad, we cancelled Deansgate and made a reservation here.
So glad we did.
Staff were fantastic & the rooms remained contemporary and excellent.
Not as large as Deansgate, and hotel not as "showy", but that's fine. Location was key.
Used the bar during our stay, but not the restaurant - service a little slow as the bar encountered a post-concert surge, but worth the wait, and kept thinking about the 20 minute walk we'd saved ourselves.
Would definitely return.More
