For a recent couple of business trips to Manchester I stayed here. The first stay was in a double room, the second in a twin. The rooms are reasonably proportioned, although with the table, chairs, desk and chair, it can be challenging to say, get to the wardrobe. That said, that is probably the only critical comment about the hotel. Imacs in your room, free wifi throughout, and internet on the iMac is a good inclusion. Well glazed windows mean you are more likely to get noise from people stopping in the corridor to talk before retiring to their rooms. Staff were friendly, and helpful to ensure you had a good stay,

Room Tip: Ask for a room that is not opposite an entrance way or corridor.

Excellent hotel in a great location. As this was a birthday visit, we got an upgraded room (with free minbar) and a free drink in the (small) bar.

Although the room was small, it had a Mac, and Crabtree toileters.

Literally minutes from Piccadilly station (which has cheap weekend parking), and close to the village for a night out.

Breakfast was good and plenty.

The warm cookie on arrival is a nice gesture.

The location of the hotel is perfect. It is not far from railway station, very close to the center of old York. Very calm area, but just in five minute by walk you can find different shops and you can reach several nice historical places. The hotel and its rooms were very clean. Servicing personal was very gentle and attentive.

Recently stayed in a Queen room with my partner for 2 nights prior to a departure flight at Manchester airport. We stayed in order to sightsee around Manchester with a couple of nights out.
This hotel was perfect for our needs. I informed reception via e-mail that the trip was for my partners birthday - they had left a personal birthday message with a warm choc cookie, fruit & choc sauce in the room for her along with a birthday card - nice touch.
The apple iMac was very useful & as a tv has all sport channels which was excellent. The bar was reasonably priced (4 x peroni bottles £10) and drinks can be taken to rooms. Rooms very clean, large windows city views with a fridge, comfy bed, clean en-suite shower room & all amenities you would expect.
Breakfast was tasty and with plenty of choice. Location is great - just a short walk from all corners of the city centre.
Only issue would be lack of parking but this is normal in Manchester & plenty 24 hr car parks nearby.
Would definitely return for any kind of Manchester City Centre stay if still competitively priced of course.

Stayed for two nights with a friend who lives in preston. A nice welcome although slightly robotic. The room was very small and has no character , twin room beds so close we might as well have been in a double bed. Real concern, we were going to use the safe for our iPads, however it was so hot due to the fridge being below with no ventilation, slight fire hazard. They need to cut out a ventilation strip at the back of the unit to keep the fridge cupboard cool. Not over impressed for £150 a night, think I would find an alternative next time I was visiting Manchester.

Room Tip: Don't expect too much room

My business partner/friend and I stayed 'as a treat' at this hotel on Saturday 12th October 2013. We booked a twin room with dinner and breakfast. We also booked a parking space (at a cost of 15 pounds a day).

The hotel was extremely busy but the staff was polite and tried to be helpful. Unfortunately every person we asked gave us a different answer to our questions. There was confusion over the parking space - we were first told there was no space so we had to park at the station car park (which was OK because it was a fraction of the price at weekends!). When we checked in however we were informed that we did have a parking space reserved. We enquired about dinner and were told that after 5pm we had to eat in the bar. When we arrived in the bar at 7pm we were directed to the dining room! Maybe it was just weekend mayhem though.

The food was very disappointing - certainly not worth the price we paid. Mediocre at best - everything looked like it had spent the day under heat lamps in the kitchen.

Our room was tiny - it may have been part of a suite since there was a (locked) connecting door to the next room. The beds were very comfortable however.

All in all we had everything we needed but it wasn't the luxurious treat we had been expecting. Not worth the price - we wouldn't stay again.

Centrally located within easy walking distance of shopping and the many eating places in town. Great facilities, free fast internet, free room safe. Very quiet room and friendly staff and service. Will stay again if in Manchester.
