The hotel is situated at the end of the ramp to Piccadilly Train station and is a short walk to Piccadilly Gardens, Arndale Centre and is at the end of Canal Street so is in a great location.

The staff were always friendly and helpful when checking in and you receive a warm cookie.

The room is nice and modern with a safe and a fridge in the room along with an Iron and Ironing board in the wardrobe. The shower is fantastic in the hotel and always hot and powerful.

During my stay I ate in both the main restaurant and bar. The choice in both is rather small but there are good deals to be had in the bar. The restaurant food was of small portions but packed with flavour. The price is a bit on the hefty side swell.

In the bar they were doing a meal deal, any burger or fish and chips with a drink for £10.95 which was a great deal as a pint of Lager costs £4.20 and the Fish and Chips were around £11 by themselves. The problem was always the service. You could find a table straight away but if you weren't near the bar sometimes the staff missed you. When they did take your drinks order it took an age for them to turn up at the table. The same with the food, it took an age for the food to be cooked and served at the table (up to 45mins for a starter) even when it was quiet. if you don't stipulate you want a starter and a main course then everything turns up at once. When it came to getting the bill almost every night the meal deal wasn't put on so you had to wait for this to be sorted out.

The gym in the hotel has a good mix of weights and CV equipment situated on the first floor next to all the conference rooms.

Overall the hotel is nice, clean, modern and in a great location but if you're in a rush for food it might be better to eat out.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that overlooks the front of the hotel otherwise you will hear tram horns all day and...

Excellent Practical hotel in centre of Manchester - great rooms and staff. Nothing fancy - just very nice rooms with the added benefit of Apple computers in each room. Modern, unfussy just what you want for a one or two night stay

I was in a party of three my main meal was served not with my party and the steak was not as requested. We waited an exceptionally long time to be served throughout the meal this occuring more than three times. This was especially poor given we were three of only six taking a meal in the restaurant at the time. The waiter seemed to be more interested in the waitress given his attention to touching her bottom!

Check-in efficient as always although not sure about the purpose of chocolate brownie. The service at the front desk is as always super but the bar is not very sophisticated. Once you have been there a few times you learn to keep away from the tram tracks. They have decided to charge for fried eggs which are a million times better than the infrared scrambled eggs. Why are toasters in most hotels rubbish. Position next to the station is worth a lot.

This is a modern, comfortable city hotel with nice rooms and good facilities; located very close to station and city centre. (only takes about 3-4 mins from room to platform) Lots of places to eat nearby and handy for the Metro too. Good breakfast albeit costly but perhaps you could get a deal. This was our second stay here and will be going back. Love the welcome cookie!

Room Tip: One side of the hotel faces a derelict building which is an eyesore but unless you're staring ou...

My wife booked this hotel for my birthday. They not only upgraded us but there was also a hand written birthday card and a voucher for two free drinks which I think was a lovely touch. Breakfast was of a good standard but no fried eggs that I could see. My only problem was the drinks in the room fridge were warmer than the room other wise I would have given top marks

Stayed in the doubletree on a Friday night. Staff really pleasant on arrival - free warm cookie and complimentary bottles of water in mini fridge were a great touch. Room clean, bed comfy with feather pillows and duvet. Sadly I felt unwell and although staff weren't able to provide medicine did manage to arrange me some honey and lemon which was lovely. On the doorstep of Piccadilly station and short walk to shops and restaurants. Would stay again and highly recommend.
