We are just back from a weekend stay at this hotel for Pride Weekend. Overall, it was a pleasant enough stay but nothing great and we won't be rushing back.
So to the positives. Well, the hotel is very conveniently located next to the train station. It is literally a five walk. Also, it's literally a two minute walk to the bars and clubs of Canal Street. It's also spotlessly clean and the staff are nice and helpful.
So to the negatives. Well, there was nothing too bad. One grumble that I have is that we paid £174 per night and we didn't have breakfast included in the price. The only 'extra' was a cookie at check in. Really, a cookie! Having stayed in deluxe hotels worldwide I would really expect more for that price. Maybe even free water and a free newspaper every day. A little something would go a long way.
We had one of the executive rooms (an extra £10 per night). It was on a high floor (8th) but, I really wouldn't bother paying the extra if I were you as I really don't see what you get for the extra money. The room was nice enough and clean but the shower in the bathroom (by the way, no bath) was pretty lacklustre. Not a proper power shower.
So overall a nice enough place but not somewhere I would rush back to.
