This hotel has great rooms which are large and fitted to a high standard . Great attention to detail , like speakers in the bathroom , iPod doc ,etc . Plus it is a 1960's refurb building rather than a bland box. Staff are great and very clean and the l;title gym is good .breakfast daily standard but no issues and again good service.
It does not have a scenic view either the ring road or Man Piccadilly (5 mins walk max to platforms ) but no noise as such.
I don't usually give 5 stars unless somewhere stands out and for all of the above I give it 5 stars but it is let down by the restaurant prices and bar prices which are to expensive for what you get / manchester prices .
Clipper tea , £4.75 , disappointing range of deserts all £6 and the product did not justify it. I tried the mash and sausage which was not pub prices and expected season veg with it but it was just mash and sausage and to be honest I have had better at a lot less in a pub.
So hotel is recommended but restaurant is clearly designed for company accounts and tourists and I suggest you walk into Manchester city centre .More
