Stayed at the Macdonald for a girlie weekend and will certainly be going again. The staff were welcoming and friendly throughout and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were spacious with huge city view window and large bathroom with a modern and tastefull decor throughout. Breakfast was served until midday and you can have as much as you like. Enjoyed the thermal suite which was included in the price of the room.

My sister and I stayed here for one night whilst visiting Manchester to see Michael Ball in concert at the Apollo. We chose the Mc Donald due to its close proximity to Picadilly and also because of the limited availability of twin rooms when we booked. We were not disappointed the location was excellent; a 5 minute walk from the station and 10-15 minute walk from the main shopping area ,although we did get a taxi as it was raining. We walked back from the Apollo theatre as there were no available taxis and it was only a 10 min walk from there also so it is ideal if you are visiting the Apollo.
The hotel itself was as you would expect a 4 star hotel to be , no complaints and the twin room was particularly spacious, my only criticism was there were only toiletries and towels for one person and when we questioned that on booking out we were told they were in the drawers. I have never experienced that so as I say that is my only gripe with the place really. Breakfast was good, plenty of choice although we did have to ask twice for toast and coffee as they were busy and also could have been a tad warmer but maybe I am just being picky here as I know it is hard to keep the buffet type breakfast warm.
Good value dinner for 2 and wine deal which we did not take as we chose to dine after the theatre and it was too late so we dined at a Brasserie over the road

All in all a brilliant hotel and we would return on our next visit and very friendly helpful staff!

Stayed in this Hotel last weekend.
Everything was as you would expect from a four star hotel. The rooms are very spacious and the bathrooms are gleaming clean. Breakfast was excellent. The location was literally a 3 min walk from Picadilly railway station which connects to the Airport in 15 mins. I would have no hesitation in returning to this hotel in the future.

Well what can I say... Me and my beautiful lady friend Debbie loved the massive bed, the room was smart and very spacious. We enjoyed the thermal suite too. All I can say is 'jobs a good un.'

This hotel is very stylish with friendly service - better than you would expect from a hotel chain. The bathroom had an oversized bath and a separate shower. The bed was comfortable. Large windows allowed lots of natural light into the room.

We had taken our bikes with us by train (free service on Virgin Trains) and were happy to find that there was dedicated secure and covered bicycle parking.

The gym and spa were nice to use. We didn't use any catering facilities, so couldn't comment on that, but the room service breakfast advertised seemed reasonably priced.

It would have been nicer if this hotel was able to provide free wi-fi.

I booked this hotel last minute and didn't realise until we got there that i probably got the last hotel room in Manchester as Take That were playing at Old Trafford so it was busy! having said that the concierge and the restaurant staff were brilliant. We had the special dinner menu excellent value we thought at £20 each for 2 courses including a bottle of wine, before we went out to our concert (Legends of Motown not Take That!) and the watiress who served us remembered us in the morning at breakfast and asked how the concert went. the concierge was also great and clearly rememebered us when we called back to pick our bags up on our final day having finished our trip with some shopping. the room was spacious and tastefully decorated. We didn't use the spa but would definately go back to the hotel and will next time. Great location just next to Picaddilly station and close to centre of Manchester.
