Excellent food. Not at all typical Alsatian food - much more refined. We were six people and ate in the lower restaurant which was a bit hot and very noisy but the atmosphere was very good. The service was very slow but we weren't in a hurry. The waitress was lovely and managed to speak to us in English and German. We will definitely go there again when we are next in Colmar.

We had a memorable evening spent in this extremely hospitable, friendly restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious from beginning to end. We felt so very welcome and our hosts were so very sincere, warm and helpful - the chef even came out to wave us goodbye when we left! There was a lovely ambiance, everyone seemed so relaxed and the other diners - most of which were local were also really friendly. This was my favourite dining experience during our French trip, and has left us with warm and happy memories.

We booked this restaurant based on the reviews we read here - and it exceeded all expectations! I have never experienced a restaurant with such unique charm and character. The restaurant brings together two passions - excellent food and bric-a-brac chic - and the two are perfectly blended. The food was really superb and beautifully presented. The waiting staff also shared the overall sense of 'joie de vivre', and eagerly answered our numerous questions about the menu and the region in general.

Every dish we ordered was excellent, and in-between courses we marvelled at the interior, which really is a work of art (we also took an aperitif on the terrace so we could start by exploring the exterior!). Hats off to everyone at La Table du Brocanteur for offering something with unique charm and spirit. Booking recommended!

Things went well from the beginning when I was able to make a phone reservation completely in French(though not necessary), and we actually had a table when we arrived! Family run, headed by the wonderful Isabelle, we were seated at one of the few tables and started our night with a glass of wine. We were very lucky to be seated next to a friendly French couple from Colmar, Terry & Nicole, who offered their assistance in ordering and recommendations. When Terry summoned Isabelle and informed her we had made an incorrect choice of wines, she whisked the glasses away and returned with 2 others that were a perfect choice, at no additional charge. We cannot say enough good things about Isabelle, an ever present smile and very helpful and pleasant, we'll never forget her. Our table for the night, the food presentation was very good and prompt, not to mention delicious. We took Nicole's recommendation of the sherry infused vanilla ice cream, and it was incredible...we wanted to return just for that dessert!

Over the next 2 weeks we ate at much more expensive and noted eateries, but the food, together with the service and atmosphere made La Table du Brocanteur the best dining experience of our 19 day French trip.
