Description: Two friends and I enjoyed a very pleasant and relaxing meal in this typical Alsatian restaurants. Alsatian food is not my favourite but it was quite good. The decor was very typical of the establishment and the service was excellent. The waitresses are dressed in the traditional alsatian costumes to add to the atmosphere.

Small restaurant with waitressrd in local dress. Reasonable but not large choice of menu. Service friendly and cost pretty fair for value,

“Average meal, quite touristy feel”
Reviewed 19 June 2013

The food was quite good, if you are after local classics, however the service was a bit hasty and not very personable (e.g., different unsmiling servers coming to the table at different times). It's supposed to really have this "authentic" feel because it's in a lovely old building, decorated with antiques, and the servers wear traditional costumes. But it felt a bit too touristy for me. Everyone inside clearly tourists, and unfortunately this dictates what kind of service you get. I think much better local fare can be had without the kitsch and accompanying poor service.

“Wonderful Alsatian Meal”
Reviewed 7 June 2013

The coq au vin in reisling was yummy. And the white fish in wine sauce was perfect. Really inspired me to start cooking again when I returned home. It's not as flamboyant as contemporary restaurants, but it does offer a slice of Alsatian food. And isn't that what traveling is all about--to experience other cultures and their way of living, eating?

“Far from a Michelin 2*”
Reviewed 15 May 2013

Terrible food (ordered the chicken in Riesling sauce and got a chicken soup chicken leftovers...), terrible service (tried to ask to replace my chicken and was refused), they served pretzels (like the ones I buy my kids) with the wine we ordered and supermarket cookies were served with the cheque.
This is definitely not a Michelin stars restaurant. Try La Maison Rouge in Colmar - wonderful restaurant and friendly service.
