The lovely houses and river along this area make of it a very attractive place. Lots of tourists and plenty to see. While it is not that far from the town centre, there is free electric bus to take you around if tired.

Colmar itself is worth a visit. Little Venice is in walking distance from downtown and offers boat rides during the day and nice restaurants for the evening.
Little Venice is a real gem, but also with an emphasis on "little". In fact it is less than a 5-minute walk.
Honestly as good as it looks from the pictures. Amazing little town with unique building architecture.
I would recommend spending only a day or two here as it's not a big town and can be seen within a few hours.
I was expecting a larger area of buildings sitting on the canal banks. Don't get me wrong, if you're in Colmar it's worth checking out. There are 2 bridges that offer good photo ops and the cobbled alleys leading to it are aesthetically charming. In my opinion, the "little Venice" counterparts in Malaysia & China are superior.
We loved our stay here! Very nice small town with lots of character. It has the venice feel but more like in a fairy tale setting! the houses are very colorful!
