“A compromise of a Cerise”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 January 2014

When you are joined by your kids on the travel excursion it is sometimes necessary to look for a larger accommodation unit, preferably with a kitchenette, and it should be moderately priced. The Cerise fit some of these requirements. The place is handy to infrastructure and there is free parking handy and generally its not too bad. Clean enough, but the quarters are cramped. The unit we booked was advertised as a “2 bedroom apartment”, which is a bit of an exaggeration since it was really a 2 room apartment. The bedroom contained twin beds with the made double bed in the “other” room, which was the sort of sitting room adjacent to a tiny kitchenette and a bathroom. All very cramped and about as de-minimus as 4 adults can go. The wifi was patchy and the heating seemed to be either completely off or full bore. Otherwise, the staff were reasonably friendly and helpful. Overall, a bit of a last resort really.

Room Tip: Go upmarket if you can afford it

This place is adequate but it is near only the tram and a mosque, as far as I could tell. On the upside, I discovered a funky, cafe with green tea and beer (etc.) while riding the tram into town. It was truly local folks - men, women and children - and no tourists!
Didn't feel comfortable making the few blocks walk from the tram to the hotel in the dark of night. No one else was ever around along the way.

We stayed here overnight in late July 2013.
The rooms are very small, with furniture like student dorm rooms.
There was no a/c anywhere in the hotel and it felt like we were sleeping in a Sauna.
The hallways were dark, poorly lit and institutional looking.

The hotel is situated south of Strasbourg, in the middle an industrial zone, which gave us a very negative first impression of Strasbourg.

This "hotel" is listed as a "3 star" but, in my opinion, its not even a 1 star.

Stayed here for a couple of nights in a 1 BR suite. The rooms are very basic and my BR actually lacked a sofa in the living room. Instead I had another bed. Probably OK for ppl with kids I guess. The kitchenette is small but does the trick. Be warned though that the rooms are not cleaned daily, so if you expect a Hotel like treatment (trash up in the evening and find that the Pixxies cleaned it while you were working) think again. Location is OK, quite next to the tram lines. Not sure if (single) women would feel safe at night though. The internet is dreadfully slow. The breakfast is overpriced for what it is. But you can not beat the price of less than 40EUR a night for a studio or less than 80 for an appartment.
If you do not intend on seeing much of your Hotel room, this is not a bad option, but if you plan on spending some time in your room - you have been warned.

Room Tip: Get rooms with the word superior in them.

This hotel is located in an industrial area with quite a bit of noisy traffic. The beds were hard and uncomfortable, and the room was hot and stuffy even at midnight. The only plus was the fact that there were two rooms and a tiny kitchen with 2 burners, a fridge and sparse utensils.

Don't stay here. The hotle was booked as a 3 start so i am happy that it is Holiday Inn Express standard. not even close. This is a complete sham. The rooms are small, hot, and smelled. The receptionist was more interested on his computer. Never stay here.

I stayed for one night during a business trip. Location is convenient but mainly because of the tram system in and around Strasbourg which means you are only 10 - 15 mins from city centre. Industrial estate location. Room was small and basic with hard plastic / budget furniture. The bed was small & I found it uncomfortable. Breakfast was minimal. Best feature of this hotel were the friendly and helpful staff when I checked in. If you are looking for a cheap(er) alternative to the city centre hotels for a short stay with no frills then I woudlsay this hotel is a good option.
