“Lots of period charm!”
Reviewed 30 March 2013 via mobile

Hotel Chut has more than plenty of charm. We stayed in room 4 with a view of the incoming street. It does get a bit bright in the room come morning since there are no pull down blinders, only wooden covers outside the windows. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom modern. The breakfast was small in options but the things that were there were well made. The biggest annoyance of the stay was the challenge of finding the place, but once there this charming little hotel in Petite France was well worth the visit!

Chut is superbly situated in the very best part of Strasbourg. Easy walk to the station and the touristy Cathedral area, but right in the middle of la petit France, the ancient heart of the city. It can be a bit noisy, but what do you expect? The rooms are pleasant and contemporary. Breakfast was great too.

Good points: good restaurant, convenient location and charming quirky rooms with interesting decor.
Bad points: website does not give true picture (no 'walk in' shower, wifi not working (despite promises to fix it) and rather noisy - inside and out). Also, if you are checking in on a Sunday or Monday there is likely to be no one at the hotel as the restaurant is closed. We waited for almost an hour, eventually contacting the booking agent who contacted the hotel directly. (If only this information had been to us initially it would have saved a great deal of hassle)

The hotel is very nice, small and charming, with its own soul. In a perfect location, close to rail station, tram stop, in the old town. Room was spacious, very clean, bathroom as well, bed v. comfortable. Free wifi in the room. The only bad thing I can say - it was a bit noisy (it's an old building, with thin windows so you can hear the noise from the street). Service very good. I will go back

While the charm was there, service and room were a huge disappointment. The website does not reflect at all the reality. At booking, the staff was very nice until we showed up; then it went down hill from there. We went with 2 young childs and the rooms are not child friendly at all. Although I understand the fact that it is an old building, I would still question some of the building code: nails sticking out of the staircase, steep stairs without handrail, wires sticking out of lighting fixture, electric heating not working well, etc.
I would not recommend this hotel.

loved this original, quirky little place in the heart of La Petite France - the uber-touristy part of Strasbourg, but this has nothing kitschy/touristy. Two old houses knocked into one, done up with charm by local architect with small, beamy rooms, some with shower off the bedroom separated by a sliding door, others with separate bathroom. Good Mod Med/Asian food served at a handful of tables out on the pavement, or inside tiny cramped dining room.

This hotel has very nice rooms and a good restaurant. But the administration is chaotic and unreliable. If you want to avoid nasty surprises better go to a different hotel!
