Exceptionally friendly hotel in a good location not far from the train station and close to the picturesque Petite France area of Strasbourg. Main sights are within walking distance and there is a tram stop in front of the hotel. Rooms are clean and quite large for the price. Good buffet breakfast. Free use of PC. My room was through the courtyard at the back and very quiet.

Excellent position walking distance to river cruises, shopping, cathedral and cafes. Friendly staff, clean triple room and bathroom. Breakfast was available in the city at half the price. No tea making facilities in the rooms. Garage available for nine euros if you are brave enough to share the roads with trams, bikes, people and dogs

Very friendly and efficient greeting. Reception staff kindly agreed to change our room to one on the back of the hotel following reading recommendations from previous reviews. Room was a good size and very clean. The bathroom was a little odd, bath tub with shower attachment but no way of hanging up the shower - most impracticle. Wifi was limited. Was all quite old though. Very central location, 5 mins walk from the station. Would recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for a room at the back of the hotel.

One night there during a business trip in tha area. Good location, very nice staff and perfectly clean room.
Anyhow, poor sleep quality due to a) lack of shutters and poor curtains (a lot of light in the room at night), b) a lot of noise coming from the street (despite windows having double glazing).
Shower tray was ridiculously small and water pressure too low (due to eco water-saving device).
Breakfast OK.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms on the street side (noise)

Excellent location just a few steps from downtown (Petite France) only cross a brigde and you're there.
Extremely friendly and helpfull staff, helped with everything we asked for. Not a luxurious place but clean and ample rooms and more than expected for a budget hotel.
Only wifi did not work well in rooms so I had to go to the lobby area to get a fair connection.

Room Tip: to the back to avoid the street (tram) noise

Hotel Pax is a nice little hotel in Strasbourg. It is located very close to the city centre, right next to the tram station "rue faubourg national", not far away from the train station and a lot of parking facilities.
the rooms are nice and clean. the only deficit were small stains on the curtains and the really loud noise of the tram that you could hear in the late evening and in the morning.
the staff is friendly and helpful, and speaks german, english and (of course) french.
the breakfast and parking was not included.
all in all it was a fair price (25euro per person), keeping the great location in mind.

Stayed here one hellish night in June during a heat wave. Room was on an upper floor facing street. Trams thundered below all night. It was like sleeping next to a dryer with a steel-toed boot in it.
When the trams we absent, the drunks and young gangsters filled in the gaps with loud laugher, shouting and what sounded like a fight.
We could have closed the window and shut out some (not much) of the racket, but it happened to be approximately one zillion degrees that night and the room has no A/C or fan or any sort of ventilation.
To make things worse, one of the two windows wouldn't open.
The tiny bathroom had a shower the size of a shoe box, and the tap in the sink sprayed water and drenched anyone who tried to use it. Which was welcome relief from the heat. But apparently someone forgot to clean the underside of the toilet seat. Enough said.
Soon after we finally fell asleep, all he'll broke loose on the street below when a drunk guy rammed his car into a building. He got out, cursed, then drove off with a rear wheel locked up and smoking ominously. The police never showed up.
Breakfast for €8 was pretty skimpy.
I have to say the staff was helpful and friendly, and had no problem with English. And it's close to the train station. But so are a lot of hotels that looked much nicer.
