This is a modern hotel in a very old traditional building. We ended up parking at the wrong Ibis hotel which wasn't a problem as it is just across the river from this one! We walked to Le Petit France and the old town and enjoyed exploring the city from this perfectly placed base. The receptionist recommended a boat tour which was a lovely idea and also pointed us in the direction of some good restaurants. The breakfast was very good, traditional continental fayre with a fresh orange juicer and coffee to go if required.
The hotel itself is lovely, in the perfect spot to explore a beautiful city and close to the station. The hotel is in a period building and the decoration inside is bright and modern. The price was very reasonable and the free wifi is very much appreciated.
My only complaint is the lack of air conditioning. Being from England, we are accustomed to cooler climes, and when we stayed (mid June), the heat was overwhelming. The first night was unbearable, I had to go to reception to ask for a fan (which they were able to provide). This helped a little but it was still very uncomfortable.
This is a shame really, as this is the only let down, and I can imagine that the hotel is perfect in cooler months.
