Owner description: Elegant 18th-century palace houses three museums: Musee des Beaux Arts, Musee Archeologique and Musee des Arts Decoratifs.

We started our visit a little late after going to a farmer's market adjacent to it on Saturday morning. Because of that one of the Museums closed for lunch so we couldn't visit all 3 at once. Actually that worked out better because we took a break too and returned.

The Decorative Arts museum is almost like passing thru some of the rooms at Versaille.

We visited the decorative arts part of the Palais, which we thought would be the most interesting part for us--and it was. The rooms and the furniture we found quite wonderful, as well as some of the ceramics displays. We did find it a little confusing at times to figure out the path we were supposed to take through the place and ended up doubling back a couple of times. But it was lovely and a pleasure to visit.

Used our Strasbourg ticket booklet to get in here free and glad we did. Beautifully restored palace full of amazing paintings and furniture. There are information cards available in each room so you don;t have to buy a guide book!

We visited two of the three museums housed in the palace (fine arts museum and decorative arts). The fine arts collection is heavy on religious art which doesn't happen to be my preference. The decorative arts included a lot of local ceramics as well as some of the decorated palace rooms which were unimpressive relative to other palaces in France and Germany.

Overall, we found it average. If you want to visit just one museum in the city, we found the Alsatian museum more interesting.

Located just right on the left side of the Cathedral (Notre-Dame). Easy access and next to the musée de louvre . The building & the interior was nice. Make sure you tell the teller that you want to see Palais de Rohan because there are 3 expositions happening in one time (on my visit). Once we entered the palais,, you'll greet by the big space ballroom... very nice...;)
The collection were quite interesting especially the astrology room very impressive.. the only think I can say just maybe they need to open more room & show more collection because only the main floor that open for public so not really much to see,,
