This hotel is basically a stopping-place for travelers on their way through Strasbourg. It is in a nice setting, just off the Orangerie but on the other side of the park from the European Parliament buildings. As such, it is not handy to anything, though one can take wonderful strolls through the park. The main transit line is a good 10-15 minute walk and from there to the main part of Strasbourg is another 15-20 minutes. Also, there was only one restaurant nearby (though there were two other, more exclusive ones, in the park). The staff was pleasant but not overly so. The room was very acceptable, with a nice kitchenette. Oddly, our balcony connected to the next room, so anyone from the next room could easily have strolled by our window!

It was a pleasure to stay in Residence Jean-Sebastien Bach! Large apartment with enourmous balcony. Very friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. Buildings of ECHR and Council of Europe within walking distance. Free wifi was in lobby only. I would highly recommend!

If you are lucky to get a room during plenary sesssions of the European Parliament, go for it. The bed is really good, the room it's quiet, the bathroom is nice and clean. There is a small kitchenette, which is convenient, as there are no decent restaurants in the area. There are two supermarkets where you can get some ready-made meals. Free Wifi is only available in the lobby, unfortunately, I think there is wired internet in the room, but it is not free and I have a wifi only device. For city trips it's a bit too far outside the city centre.
Breakfast is OK, not too exciting.

Room - average with built in sink and dishwasher. Big balcony and nice leafy suburban area.

Service - average. The lady at reception looks stress and unfriendly! Management could do a little more training about customer service!

Perks - free wi fi in the lobby. The is a washing machine and ironing board in the basement which is very handy,

A short scroll from the beautiful L'Orangerie park. Free parking outside the hotel but be prepared to walk like 10-15 mins to the closest tram stop.

Pleasant stay in quiet suburban Strasbourg. 2 minutes from stroll in Orangerie Park. Then tram into old town(Republique). 10 minute return walk from L'Opera tram stop in evening. Secure parking good, but could have parked for free in nearby streets. Decent breakfast, nice balcony, good size clean room.

We enjoyed our night at this hotel.
Clean, everything as advertised, quiet at night. Wifi in the lobby.
Don't eat at the restaurant in the park: le jardin l'orangerie or something like that. Overpriced, middling to poor french food. Worst meal of a 14 day trip. And not cheap. Not really near public transportation. Parking on the street was easy.

We had 3 days in Strasbourg and couldn't fault this hotel at all. Very friendly and efficient on check in - we had a very nice suite with bedroom and pull out sofa bed for the kids with very big bathroom and separate WC. The balcony was very nice and the small kitchen very adequate. The entire room was very nicely furnished and high quality. The location is a little was out from the city centre but once we'd found the quickest way in this was fine - especially as the hotel is right next to a lovely park with it's own small zoo that the kids loved - especially the baby baboons. All in all we would definitely return and would recommend.
