I stayed here in december mainly to attend meetings at the council of europe. It was very close to the european institutions. In terms of strasbourg city attractions, it was a bit far away. The room was clean, the hotel efficient and breakfast was ok. There were groups in the hotel who were given breakfasts in separate rooms so there were mix ups. And the lobby and breakfast area is small. Especially crowded when it is breakfast time.the hotel is far from the city center and you have to rely on taxis to get there. Other than that there did not seem to be major problems.

Calm, efficient hotel, big comfortable rooms and good service.
Location a bit away from the action, but compensated by the quiet and calm surroundings.
Breakfast room undersized for the number of guests and buffet food quality below average

We stayed here for a full week. Great suite, good beds, fabulous service with a smile, wonderful location accross the orangerie park which is super in the summertime with lots to see and to do for the kids. The hotel is 10 minutes from the city by car.
I can recommend this hotel to anyone!!

It's common knowledge that French hotels are on average somewhat less well maintained than in, say, Germany. This hotel is no exception. Bathroom, furniture, etc. are all worn out. The rooms are pretty big, though.
As to French food, breakfast is very meagre, proving that this hotel is more an appartmentbuiding than a hotel. Even the tables are minimal. if you want a cheap and good dish go to the Italian on te corner.
The location is okay, next to a beautiful Orangerie. If you wanna see on first hand were your tax money is spent by the european burocracy, the EG-buildings are close but have no appeal whatsoever.

The hotel has considerable virtues: I had a large room - suite, almost, with separate walk-in wardrobe, loo and bathroom, plus a kitchen "corner" with washing-up machine, microwave, hob, sink and fridge, comfortable sofa and chairs, and large balcony with table and chairs. The breakfasts seemed OK but breakfast is not my thing. It is next to the superb Orangerie park (lake, boating, waterfalls, fountains, aviary, wild storks nesting, woodland, flower gardens, children's playgrounds - absolutely beautiful) and very convenient for the European institutions just across the park.

But it has its limitations. It is some distance from the city centre (and a taxi took 15 minutes to arrive). It has no bar or restaurant, and there is only one (quite passable) restaurant nearby. There is no wi-fi except in the foyer - and they charge an extortionate €10 a day to plug in a cable in the rooms (and the process of making the connection is often wayward). The selection of TV channels is extremely limited - in English only CNN and BBC Prime.

And like many hotels today they have the same hypocritical - actually lying - self-promotion as environmentally concerned of claiming to replace towels only if they are left on the floor but actually replacing them willy nilly even if re-folded and hung on the towel rail. Complaints about this on two successive days made no difference whatever - in fact, the reaction was on one occasion to misunderstand my mentioning the subject as a complaint that the towel had not been replaced.

And why do tablets of soap have to be scrapped even if used only once?
