“Boutique style hotel”
Reviewed 12 February 2014

Small, comfortable hotel. A nice walk to Strasbourg city centre (something like 10/15 minutes). The room was cosy, and they paid attention to the little details. There was not a lot of light, but we didn't need it. Breakfast was great, a lot to choose from. We booked it through Trivago and got a great rate. But I wouldn't book it for the standard rate. Then it's very expensive (Probably when the EU parliament takes its office there, so come in the weekends). Strasbourg is a lovely city, historical with nice boutique shops.

We went to Strasbourg for the Christmas markets and were very excited about enjoying the city. We arrived late on Friday and were welcomed by the night manager. He offered to help us carry our bags to our rooms, gave us a map of the city and explained where we were located.
The next morning breakfast was very good. A lot of choice and the staff was nice and was paying a lot of attention to details. The hotel is within walking distance of the city center and the old town.
In the afternoon before heading out for dinner we enjoyed in the bar and lobby area a nice complimentary glass of “vin chaud”! Delicious!
The bedding was perfect and I slept like a baby. The bathroom was functional but I couldn’t hang the shower head, so I opted for a bath! A warm and invigorating bath after a long day in the cold.

If I have friends going to Strasbourg I would definitively recommend this hotel and in the summer there seems to be a very nice terrace to take breakfast or a drink in the evening.

We booked this hotel as a point to explore some nearby cemeteries and attend the Christmas market in Strasbourg. This hotel was close to a park so great for walking our dogs. The staff had a dog bed and bowls set up in the room upon our arrival which was a very nice touch. The markets were about a 10 minute walk and we were close to the motorway for our daytime journeys. The breakfast was good but somewhat expensive at 14€ per person. Rooms clean and comfortable. Yes they are small but we were only there to sleep. Parking is around the corner in a large garage and cost 13€ per day.

The staff is very friendly and speaks very good german. We from the first moment felt good. Breakfast buffet is very good and the service also. Furnishing of the rooms and location of the hotel, as well as price performance ratio was very in order. We will definitely recommend this hotel and if we are again in strasbourg should be, immediately check in there again.

The room I had was very small, the wifi connection did not work very well. The fitness room was a joke.

You can go more central for the same price/quality ratio.

There aren't any good restaurants close by. A few pizzerias. I tried one, it was awful (rancid meat) and the other one I didn't bother, it was a curry and pizza restaurant.

Cleanliness was good, the staff was friendly and helpful. They scanned a document I needed and a printed my boarding pass on demand.

Although our room was small and there was no shower in our bathroom, only a very short tub (I'm 6' 4" and could not fit in it), the room was clean and quiet, and the bed was comfortable. We really appreciated the friendly staff who were patient, understanding and helpful. We were traveling north from Colmar and easily found the hotel- right off the highway. My only complaint is that is a bit far from the center of town, about a 25 minute walk, which gets a bit far if you are going back and forth. Although we did not eat the breakfast buffet, it looked expansive, and the waitperson served us all the coffee we wanted. If I couldn't find a comparable hotel closer to town, I would stay at the Hotel Villa d'Est again.

Although a bit of a ways outside the Grande Ile, this hotel makes up for it by having beautifully decorated and comfortable rooms. Rates are also very affordable and front desk is very friendly and speak excellent English. Strasbourg is fairly small so a 10-15 walk will get you right to the downtown core. Didn't try the breakfast as it was a bit pricey. Cafes and patisseries are abundant on the main island so head that way for cheaper, yummier eats. Worth the savings for a welcoming room if you don't mind a bit of an extra walk.
