Well situated and good value. Efficient and helpful Reception team. Comfortable and quiet room. Efficient website booking. Good value. Will recommend to friends as a good centre to explore and enjoy The Alsace. Well up to the standard expected from Accor Hotels.

Strasbourg was a "whistle stop" for us -- an overnight and half day stay on our way from Paris to Basel. We arrived by train around 21:00 and were happy to be a few meters from our hotel. Our room -- presumably like all the others in the hotel-- was teensy but for a short stay it was perfectly adequate. The design and decor look like something done entirely by Ikea, i.e. spare, functional and pleasant. The beds and pillows were comfortable, the bathroom was a decent size and everything worked as it was supposed to. The staff don't give the impression of being interested in doing more than checking you in and out but since we didn't need anything more, that was alright with us. Breakfast was good quality and more than adequate (though not sumptuous, if that's what you're looking for) and we enjoyed it. Next door, a restaurant called Le Dix had very good light meals at good prices and we enjoyed our late dinner on the patio in the moonlight. The hotel is within easy walking distance of all the sights in the old city centre and just a couple of blocks from the river. I would happily stay here again for a night or two, but for anything longer I think it could produce serious claustrophobia.

Your average IBIS hotel, nothing more nothing less on offer, although the hotel has been renovate recently and is in good shape.

Perfectly situated close to the train station. Aim to get a room on floor 7, and you will sleep like a baby. Unfortunately the hotel for some archaic reason allows smokers to smoke in some of the rooms. Obviously this pesters the entire floor, as smoke get's in your eyes...

During sessions the hotel is rather pricey.

We stayed during Christmas Market. The hotel is very close and convenient to the train station. Our room was right over a McDonald's restaurant, which took away from any quaintness. We did not hear outside noise much, though. The rooms were very clean and plain (the kind with a mishmash of pictures nailed to the wall). Mattresses were fine; European mattresses tend to be harder than some are accustomed to, due to the lack of boxsprings. Bathrooms were a bit tricky, due to showerhead placement and squeeze bottles of liquid soap placed awkwardly over a ledge (empty, but I pulled the one next to the sink and refilled on the second day). We didn't take advantage of breakfast, since it was a bit dear for 14Euro. The front desk staff were fine, although they tended to take care of other conversations (with each other) and filing or tidying before looking up at customers.
This hotel is appropriate for those seeking a clean, no-frills value hotel close to the train station. It's easily accessible from the rest of Strasbourg, which is a nice city for walking.

We showed up on Strasbourg on an adhoc trip with no access to internet and no idea where to stay. It was winter (January, 2013) so our options were limited. Being close to the train station, there was a strip of hotels and of all of these, the Ibis seemed the most reasonable.

We paid 96 Euros for one night accomodation, which I thought was a bit much. The hotel staff were exceptionally nice and multi-lingual (speaking Russian, English, German, French and Swiss).

The room was large, but I think this was due to the lack of clientele at the time and us lucking out on one of the better rooms. There was a fold out couch (which we didn't use) and a queen size bed. Had the fold out coach been used, the room would've been very small indeed. We had a room facing the train station, which was a lovely view at night.

The bed has to be the most awful bed I've slept on in my life. The mattress was about 10cm thick, so I do not recommend to anyone who has back problems and is sensitive to their mattresses.

The bathroom itself was pretty basic, and there are no usual hotel offerings (soaps, shampoos, shower caps). Instead, there is one bottle of bodywash+soap+shampoo in one connected to the wall next to the bathroom sink and one connected to the wall in the shower. It is refillable too, so a little bit gross.

Overall, the room and bathroom was clean, but I think the bathroom probably needs updating. My friend slipped in the bathroom (flooring is very slippery when wet) and ended up cutting his foot open on an open tiled space under the sink. It was awkward, to say the least.

The hotel alarm went off at 8am and we opened the door to see no one there to guide us. We eventually just went back to sleep until about 9am when a woman screaming in French came to our door. She didn't know English so she just got frustrated and left. I asked the front desk what had happened upon checking out and they said someone had caused too much fog when showering in the morning and set off the alarm in the whole hotel. This was unfortunate, as I imagine it would have aggrevated a few guests.

All in all, the hotel was OK but nothing spectacular. If I had internet access and could get on trip advisor, I probably would not have stayed here.

Room Tip: If it's a week day, pick a room on the train station side as it's relatively quiet during th...

Chose this hotel due to its location and that worked out ok. Close proximity to the railway station and tram. Given the standard and the fact that renovation is needed, the room was very overpriced. At a room rate of € 120 with no breakfast included, I would have expected a lot more. Sleep quality was ok although not super due to a rather questionable madrass. Wall-to-wall carpets were old and not inviting. Check-in was ok but the staff battled with the keycard machine and could not work the VISA machine properly.
