“Wonderful day!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 May 2014 via mobile

It was just the two of us with charming and knowledgeable Florence as our guide for the full-day wine tour. We enjoyed every aspect of what was essentially a private tour! We briefly visited Obernai, enjoyed tours and tastings at small family wineries in Barr and Dambach-la-ville, drove through the picturesque countryside with stops for photos, had lunch and another tour and tasting in Ribeauville, and finished with a walk then final tasting in Riquewihr. Storks were nesting in several villages, vines were starting to flower, the flower-filled villages and castle-topped hills were picture-perfect. Thank you Florence and Ophorus!

“Must-go tour if you're in Alsace!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 May 2014

We booked the Alsace full-day private wine tour departing from our hotel in Strasbourg, with Florence as our guide. This was certainly one of the best memories of our France trip!

The tour was originally designed to visit four wineries, but since it is a "private tour", we can flexibly adjust our itinerary and finally we decided to visit three wineries and had more time exploring the small villages Ribeauville and Riquewihr. The tour route was well planned, especially that we visited from mini to medium to international-sized wineries so that we can experience the differences among them. We tasted about 20 kinds of wines (mostly white wines) on that day, and learned what food goes well what kind of wine. This tour is good for all kinds of weather, rain or shine. It was raining on the day of our visit, but we still had a lot of fun.

Florence is very knowledgeable and super friendly. Although my family don't speak English and I had to do the translation all the time, we all enjoyed the tour and everyone was happy. Florence not only introduced the grapes and wines, but also shared the histories and stories along the Alsace wine route with us.

This is definitely a must-go tour if you are in Alsace area!

“Private tour provides perfect introduction to Alsace!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 April 2014

We had only two nights in Colmar and realized that it would be difficult to tour the surrounding wine country on our own. This private tour, with Brigitte as our guide, was just the right mix architectural, cultural, and historical perspective of the region, shopping in the outlying villages, and scenic drives including a trip to the hilltop Kronenburg Castle overlooking the villages and vineyards of Alsace. The winery tour was very informative, and the wine-tasting was delightful.
The convenience and flexibility of this 9 hour private tour made it possible for our extended family group to travel at our own pace in a comfortable van, stop for lunch when we were ready for a break, and thoroughly enjoy a full day adventure without any stress.

“Great way for a family to see the wine route!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 April 2014

We booked a full day private tour, and it was wonderful! Our guide, Brigitte was pleasantly enthusiastic and very knowledgable about the area, the wines, and the small towns we saw. And she knew the tricks that we never would have known if we tried to drive ourselves. Plus, then everyone could enjoy the wine tasting at the winery we visited! It was great to see all of the small towns and learn about the region and its wines. Travelling as a family, it was very nice to have someone else making all of the decisions and politely shepharding us along. We just got picked up from our hotel and spent the day seeing beautiful villages, eating a wonderful Alsatian lunch, and drinking Alsatian wines! What could be better?

“What a great way to see Alsace!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 April 2014

My family group of 3 generations - five adults and a 15-month-old -- reserved a full-day private tour to depart from Colmar; the tour was based on the Pearls of Alsace full day tour. Everything was great, from pickup at two different hotels in Colmar, to visiting the delightful towns of Eguisheim, Riquewihr and Ribeuville, and the scenic view from Haut Kronenburg castle. Our guide, Bridgette, was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and was accommodating to the needs of our group from the toddler to the seniors. She knew the perfect spot for lunch and a wonderful winery for our tour and tasting. We were all glad that she was driving! And we know we had a much better experience, and saw and learned much more, than if we had tried to do it on our own!
