“Look no further for authentic Basque cuisine”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 June 2013 via mobile

Really 4.5 stars. Authentic, very high quality Basque cuisine at reasonable prices in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Three course dinner menus for 16 and 19 Euros are more than reasonable. We had Piperade Basques, Agneau Txilindron, Cotelette de Canard, Gateau Basque, and Mi cru mi cuit au chocolat maison - - all were outstanding. This place is clearly a favorite with locals, which is always a good sign.

“Local Country Restaurant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 June 2013

Stopped here after we visited Monet's garden just down the road.

A young couple owned and run restaurant business for passing trade and locals serving honest meals - nothing flash but certainly passable for luncheon or dinner.

All mains came with chips (which were soggy from not being fried in hot enough oil) which seems to be a standard of French food??

Worthy of a visit if you are nearby. Note there is a more upmarket looking restaurant next door to this establishment.

“Fantastic Hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 May 2013

Reveiw a bit overdue, stayed here 2 years ago while touring round Europe on Motorbikes. The rooms very comfortable, we stayed in the annex. The food was fantastic and incredibly good value. Going back in a months time for aa second stay.

“Good family run Basque restaurant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 July 2012

Slightly hidden away just off the right bank of the Nive, we came across this restaurant on a Sunday night when it was full. We immediately reserved for the following night when we had the bargain three course menu at 18.50 euros per head with a choice of three starters and three mains plus sweet. I had piperade and morue (cod) à la Biscaîna, my wife Salade de croustillant de chèvre chaud au miel et lardons and the duck. All were well cooked and flavoursome. It's not haute cuisine but good hearty food at a reasonable price. The friendly and helpful service was pretty good if a little slow at times and the atmosphere was lively and informal. With a couple of kirs, 50cl of house wine and two coffees, the bill was 49 euros - very good value. Worth seeking out.
