“Another beautiful cathedral”
Reviewed 10 July 2014

It seems that every city in Europe has these breath taking Cathedrals that are worth taking a minute to appreciate. In the U.S. I would never think about visiting a church on vacation, but it Europe I am compelled to see each one.

“Really beautiful space”
Reviewed 3 July 2014

The stained glasswork is a knock-out. The altar was sublime.
This is a wonderful monument and so stunning in its command by its steeples across the skyline of the town.

“Beautiful architecture, don't forget the cloister”
Reviewed 2 June 2014

During a visit to Bayonne, we came across the cathedral in a small square in the old town. The architecture of this building is stunning both inside and out and don't forget to visit the cloister which is so peaceful, you would forget that your in the middle of a busy city. The surrounding streets are well worth a wander and there are lots of interesting shops and cafes.

“Beautiful cathedral”
Reviewed 17 May 2014

The cloister and the inside of the Cathedral (construction began in the 13th century and completed at the beginning of the 17th) are very beautiful. Quiet place to pray, rest or just visit. The Cathedral is in the middle of many buildings in a very small square and lacks perpective from outside but is worth a visit if you are in Bayonne

“Fine Gothic building”
Reviewed 20 March 2014

The building dates back to the days when Aquitaine was part of the realm of English kings, although it was done up, and the spires were added, during the 19th century. Some of the Cloister wall dates bac to an earlier romanesque building.
