This is a nice hotel; not in a very central location - but it is only €1.40 to the city centre by bus and the bus stop is close to the hotel. Breakfast is good - not the best I have ever had but certainly there is a good choice. Rooms are spacious and well appointed - not the cheeriest of decor (everything is kind of "brown"!) but fine. The fire alarm went off on the second night of our stay - so everyone was downstairs, milling around outside and in the foyer for about two hours in the middle of the night (not exactly sure what happened).

We were pleased to be greeted with a free upgrade to the suite at this hotel. The room was very large and had everything you could expect. The staff were friendly and can mostly all speak English If needed. Location isn't all that central but we just paid the 1.40€ to ride the bus and tram from nearby which wasn't a big deal (public transport in this city is fantastic). My only disappointment was there are no weights in the gym which I found odd.

Bordeaux itself however is very wine focused I guess as you would expect, so if wine isn't your thing you may run out of activities quite fast.

Arrived to be told that we had been given a free upgrade to the suite for our one night in Bordeaux. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Suite was amazing and huge compared to our little hotel room in Paris. Is a little far out of the city centre and taxis are very hard to come by in the evening but there is a bus stop right out the front and a tram stop 5 mins walk away which is only 1.40 each with a return trip so getting around is easy. We asked if we could check out late as we were catching a night train the following day and didn't need to be at the train station until 5:30pm to which they said it wouldn't be a problem and they would just block the room out until we left. All in all very pleased with everything here :)

I have stayed at this hotel several times. It is a 10 minute walk to the boardwalk (a must in Bordeaux) and 10 minutes from the tram. ( Do not try to drive in Bordeaux, please. The trams are amazing, and there are bike rentals everywhere.) You can also walk just about everywhere. You will see the locals, young and old, either bike or take the tram, so go with the flow. This hotel is great for most purposes. It has the standard ammenities (hair dryer, shower, etc.), and the staff are great. The restaurant is just average, but you are so close to hundreds of other restaurants, it doesn't matter.
There is no fitness center - just walk or bike! Or come in September and do the Medoc Marathon!!

Booked this hotel for two nights before traveling back home. As a frequent Mercure guest I always prefer these hotels because of their standard. The room was spacious and clean with a minibar. When arriving I even got a bag with snacks and water which was a nice surprise. The breakfast buffet was included in the price and had a good selection of cereals, coffee, tea, fruit, eggs and bacon. As I had recently tried one of Bordeaux's other Mercure hotels I chose this hotel to experience something new but was not really aware that it wasn't that close to the tram or to the city center. The hotel is located in between tram line C and tram line B, 5 minutes away. However I preferred the walk to tram line B because of the more crowded street that felt safer. 5 minute ride with the tram to the city center, so it's not that far. But for me it felt far away because of the walk to the tram stop. One big minus was the wifi, which was supposed to be free. Unfortunately for some smartphones it isn't possible to connect because of some technical problem. The hotel staff was aware of this but was not able to do anything about it.

I can recommend this hotel because of the clean and nice rooms and the breakfast buffet. I will however not stay here the next time because I prefer hotels with a more central location.

Staff here were great. All spoke perfect English, made every effort to make us feel at home. Even the room cleaning staff were friendly. They do charge you 10€ to park your car in their empty car park, and the gym is not worth visiting, but the rooms are comfortable and big, bathrooms are large and the decor is french, if not that tasteful. We had a great stay and it's just €1.40 to catch the bus from outside the door into central Bordeaux. We will return.

The hotel is ok, comfortable rooms with good size, and friendly staff. The hotel is not quite in the chartrons area. Maybe it is gegrafically in the chartrons district, but it si quite far away from the bars, restaurants and museums that people usually asociatte with such area. There is a good 10 min walk to the nearest tram stop.
