“Beautiful Hotel, Perfect Location, Excellent Breakfast Included”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 May 2014

We stayed in this hotel the first night in Bordeaux, then we went on a driving tour of the region, and we stayed in this hotel again on our last night in Bordeaux, and both nights were perfectly delightful - the rooms are very modern and very clean, and the public spaces are very nice and crisp. Our room on both nights was so quiet - could not hear anything. The breakfast (included) has everything one could want - from healthy cereals and yogurt and fruit, to eggs and sausages, to French pastries. The location is on the edge of the old town, so it was very convenient to walk everywhere, and the tram is just up the street, so we chose very well and recommend it highly.

Room Tip: Room 301 is incredible - totally modern - the bathroom is out of Architectural Digest, I think.....

Lovely old building with great classical decor on the ground floor. Very centrally located for lots of sightseeing around Bordeaux on foot. We had read that rooms were small but we had a room that was spacious with two sets of french doors onto juliet balcony looking onto the street. It can be a little noisy with street noise as the hotel is literally on the road and we were on the first floor - usually early morning deliveries but if you keep the windows shut the aircon was really good and quiet. The road is very narrow and in a pedestrian area so there is no parking. Nearest carpark was Les Grands Hommes which we found quite easily, although it does get very busy. It is a short walk of around 3 mins to hotel. There is only a breakfast room, no restaurant. Breakfast was good quality, self-service continental with homemade cakes which were scrummy. Eggs cooked on request from what I could see. The reception and breakfast staff were really pleasant and helpful.

Room Tip: We had room 103 which is at the front on the first floor with a kingsize bed, bathroom with bath and...

We loved this charming little hotel. It is in the center of the city, easy walking to all the sites. The staff were very helpful with directions and suggestions of what to see. The room was spotless and quiet and the breakfast which was included was very good.

Atentive staff! WiFi wasn´t working, which was a burden. Rooms are a small but recently rebuilt.
Very well located in the old part of town, closed for cars. The street is very calm. The lobby is decadent with furniture needing new upholstery, probably since long!

Conveniently located three-star hotel located in the shopping district (rue du Temple), a stone’s throw from the tram stops for those wishing to travel further afield.

We were warmly greeted upon check in, staff had a sound understanding of English. Decor on the ground floor was classic French with a grand stone staircase being one of its dominating features. Room was clean and adequate with complimentary wifi, although not considered spacious. Decent breakfast with choice of hot food (eggs and cocktail sausages), and fresh orange juice.

Some other observations:

My friend’s luggage finally arrived at the hotel at around midnight, but we didn’t receive a phone call to notify us of the arrival. I only found out coincidentally when I called reception the following morning over a different matter. Perhaps this is due to miscommunications during staff handover?

There appeared to be only one staff on night shifts, which may explain slight delays with requests on busier evenings.

Overall, I would gladly recommend this hotel on its room quality and location.

We , a married couple , were treated to excellent service , friendly professional personnel and a good worthwhile French breakfast everyday. The hotel is well situated in a quiet street in the center of Bordeaux close to all the sightseeing highlights of Bordeaux , restaurants and shopping centers. The tram is nearby as is the river .The hotel room had a double bed and well equipped en-suite bathroom , although quite small .Excellent hotel at a reasonable price .We spent 2 days in Brittany and on our return trip to Bordeaux to deliver our rented car , we again stayed over at this gem !

Room Tip: The quality of the hotel surprised us ...it was spot on !!
