This hotel has one big advantage - location. Rooms are compact. No drawers in rooms - two answers when we asked for some. French don't use drawers (Really!) and more creditably People don't stay long enough to use them. D'accord for 2 nights. We stayed 5. Breakfast for ten euros is not worth the money. Tinned fruit. The markets we saw were stuffed with fresh fruit. One coffee station is not enough. Minor niggles but we enjoyed our visit. The English have a lot to learn still from the French restaurant scene. No whines about the wines

Room Tip: Ask for a balcony but be prepared to walk up four floors. Life is too short to wait for the lift. Worth it for the cityscape.

Very pleasant 3 night stay at the Hotel Continental. Very clean room, not luxurious but very central location and surprising quiet at night. Good value breakfast and ideally situated just 50 metres from Place Gambetta for bus route 1 to the airport.

This hotel is in an ideal location in Bordeaux - easy to find; right on the doorstep of a fantastic range of shops for all budgets; within easy walking distance of many beautiful locations in the centre of town; five minutes from the excellent Bar a Vins of the 'Maison des vins' where you can sample over thirty wines from the region at affordable prices (we opted for this instead of taking a wine tour).

Our room was on the third floor facing in to an inner area therefore it was quiet at night. The bathroom could do with a bit of attention, particularly around the base of the shower. It was good to find a kettle in a French hotel.

Room Tip: Don't know about noise levels at the front of the hotel but on the 3rd floor at the back it was very quiet..

This is not a luxury hotel, so don't expect to be waited on hand and foot. Nor will you find incredibly luxurious space, but, now, it is clean, for a small fee, you get a very nice breakfast buffet featuring juices, coffees, fruits, meats, cereals, breads and yogurts. The beds are comfortable. The entire facility if very clean - cleaner than most US hotels, and the staff are very helpful in giving directions, calling taxis, etc. It is located the the center of the triangle area of the commercial district, so an easy walk to tours, shops, restaurants, grocery stores, banks - virtually everything you would want to see on a visit to the city. There is a bar/restaurant right next door and several more literally steps away. The bathroom we had contained a soaking tub, Grohe fixtures, a heated towel rack, and old knotty pine floors everywhere. The windows opened so fresh air could come in. This building must be at least 150 years old, but had very nicely done renovations. Highly recommended.

This is an excellent hotel for the money. Our room was clean, bright, and quiet. The hotel is perfectly situated. The staff were helpful and always available. No complaints at all. Our room was a bit bigger and brighter because it had two twin beds (a "king" size) and another twin in the corner.
