Stayed here for 3 nights in august. Small boutique hotel and much nicer than a big highrise. From our first encounter with Manon (hopefully spelt correctly) who was incredibly friendly, professional and one of the most helpful hotel staff members we have meet everything was excellent. We had room that had just been renovated in the upstairs and it was stunning. Great size room, small balcony with french doors to open up for fresh air, brand new bathroom with massive spa / bath, great lighting, quiet aircon and huge bed which made it great hotel for good nights sleep.

Location was central and easy to walk to all major attractions. We had a car. There is no parking on site so you need to park in a car park a block away. Turned out fine just drop you luggage off before you park and the hotel will give you dirrctions.

Didnt eat at hotel so cant comment on breakfast.

This small hotel is located in the heart of Bordeaux, close to Place Gambetta and the Cours de l'Intendance pedestrian area. It's also a reasonable walk to the Place de la Bourse, which is probably the most famous architectural area of Bordeaux. Finally, the hotel is convenient to the tram line and to the Tourist Information Office.

Our deluxe double room was quite large by French standards and included a comfortable sitting area with two lounge chairs and a complimentary bottle of Bordeaux wine. Our room overlooked an interior courtyard, which was quite pretty. There was some construction taking place in the courtyard which occasionally was noisy. However, there was no noise early mornings or late afternoons and evenings. Overall the room was quiet, and the air conditioning worked well, though it was seldom needed. Room lighting was quite good, and all the usual electronic features (ample outlets, flat screen TV, wireless internet) were present.

The bathroom was also large, decorated with marble, and furnished with Hermès toiletries, which were very nice. There was a Jacuzzi bathtub, which we did not try, as well as an excellent shower. I will say that the sides of the tub were high, and there was no hand grip. One had to be careful getting into and out of the tub.

The hotel has no restaurant, but it provides a first rate breakfast buffet, including canelés, a Bordeaux specialty. There is also a wine bar with a very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Hors d'oeuvres are available in the wine bar, and we sampled the dry sausage, which was good.

Staff members at the hotel were very friendly and also quite professional. A young woman named Manon, who worked at the front desk, was especially good in helping with our reservations and in assisting us in Bordeaux.

I will make one complaint: the elevator is quirky. The elevator consists of platform that moves up and down within a glass shaft. Architecturally it fits unobtrusively into the interior spaces of the hotel. However, it has a rather quirky operation, requiring a passenger to hold a button until the proper floor is reached for example. Hotel staff do not use the elevator, even when going to the higher floors. I will say that I used the elevator daily.

All in all, my wife and I enjoyed this hotel, and we would return without any hesitation.

Room Tip: It's easier to avoid using the elevator on the lower floors.

Dear Bluecato,

Thank you so much for this lovely feedback !

You've pretty much said it all, from our location to the room and our services, and I'm certain that each of our teams will be delighted to read your detailed compliments, starting with Manon who you mentionned.

I apologize if the elevator troubled you, it its true that it works fine but is rather particular. Unfortunately it is our only option in order to preserve our nice staircase and protected building.

I hope you will come back to visit us sometime,

Kind regards,

During our journey through the south of France, we spent one night at this hotel and I can say we wish we spent more nights there. The rooms are spacious with plenty of natural lighting and very modern bathrooms. Each room is named after a wine chateau in the area which is nice touch to differentiate the hotel from its competitors. The service at the hotel is also outstanding. Everyone at the hotel is welcoming with a massive smile, always willing to help in anyway possible. The breakfast is also outstanding the internet connectivity is very fast and can support multiple devices. Parking near the hotel could be quite a challenge, but there is a public parking lot 2-3 minutes away and as a guest of the hotel you get a discounted rate.

Dear pkelamis,

I hope you had a nice trip back to Toronto after visiting the region.
It's nice to read this kind of comments, and I greatly thank you for sharing them with us.

We like to offer to travelers who choose us something different from what they expect , whilst representing the spirit of Bordeaux through our wine-themed hotel. I hope you've had the chance to meet Martin , our sommelier , who perfectly fits that description.

Kind regards

Wanted to spend a couple of days in Bordeaux with my family and stumbled across this gem of a hotel via Trip Advisor. Warm welcome, the receptionist gave us a personal mini tour of the hotel, offered us complimentary welcome drinks in the wine bar and then carried our bags up to the Apartment we have booked for the night. Four poster bed in one room, and comfy double in the other, together with our own private lounge with complimentary Nespresso machine, fruit bowl etc. Good quality bathroom with high end toiletries. Needed to find a nice restaurant, so she made some recommendations and then booked a table for us. The reception team were keen to hear if we liked the restaurant when we returned and as we went back to our room they had done a turn down service with nice touches - even a Post It note on the bathroom mirror wishing us a "bonne nuit". The quality of service and genuinely warm attention to our needs was well above our expectations at this price point. A great hotel we will be returning to.

Room Tip: if you need more than one room for your party, try the Apartment.

This is a cozy and charming hotel that pays great attention to you.

Got a bit confused in getting there but the person on the other end of the phone was a great lifeline. I was convinced I was going to have a great stay at the hotel even before setting foot.

The hotel is just full of small details that makes you feel very welcome. I had the best night's rest in this room amongst all my stops in the European trip. The bed was very comfortable, room very quiet. The scent of Hermes bath amenities is a great compliment to the hotel's overall look and feel.

You also get the genuine friendliness and concern of the Concierge. The staff, more than the room- which was already great, is the highlight of my stay. The sommelier, Andrea was just a great person to chat with about all things wine. Can go on and on about my enjoyable stay in this hotel.

Really can't wait to come back.

What a wonderful welcome, stepped out of the taxi and two helpful staff ready to take our luggage. Given a free welcome drink and then the staff took us through an outline of what the hotel has to offer.
Very central location and the hotel has a quaint lift. Restaurants and shops all close by. Our rooms were quiet even though we faced a street we never heard a thing.
Highly recommended and thanks to Naomi for a warm welcome.

Room Tip: Ask any question and the staff will assist.
