Sent the kids on a school trip, then we escaped to Bordeaux for the week! Spent 4 days visiting vineyards across the region. Covered the left and right bank, with amazing access everywhere. From the power of Pauillac, to the grace of St Emilion and the elegance of Sauternes, we had a wonderful time and learned so much! Bella Wines is highly recommended. Our guide clearly knew this area and wines - but his strong relationships across the region are remarkable. What a memorable visit - trip of a lifetime! Great choices, great pace, and great wines!

That was an absolutely amazing wine tasting experinece on the left bank of Bordeaux which is "must visit destination-pilgrimage for wine lovers".

We were pleased to get to some even closed for public eye chateau-s and its splendid surroundings. Hamish is a great master of what is dedicated to wine, about wine and its culture, history, owners, families. During the lunch time we were lucky to shake the hand of famous Lynch Bages Chateau owner who randomly came up to his restaurant.

Fine wine, food and trip gives the right sense to experience and explore French approach to life "Savoir faire -know how to make it all good and enjoy life" and "Comme il faut-how the wine production should be organised"

I definitely recommend Hamish Wakes-Miller (Bella Wine Tours) to anyone who is visiting Bordeaux.

Hamish delivered on one of the best tours I have ever been on. He is passionate and knowledgeable but also a lot of fun. If you want to spend time in one of the most gorgeous spots in the world, meet dedicated craftsman, and soak in beautiful land/architecture, call Hamish immediately.

Our cruise ship stopped in Bordeaux (La Rochelle) in October, 2013 for two days. Rather than being hauled around in buses, we found Hamish on this site. Out and out, this guy is terrific. He is originally from the UK and now lives in France. He distributes Bordeaux around the world. He is a negociant in Bordeaux - and also judges St. Emelions. He met us at the the ship at promptly 8:30 AM on day one. We spent that day in the St. Emelion area. At 6:00 he dropped us off at Grand Hotel in Bordeaux. All of day two in Medoc. Hamish is especially personable (fun!), knowledgeable, and well known at the various chateaus. He is an eager teacher, so I can't say enough how much we learned. Best two days of our cruise!

Hamish is truly an excellent host who introduced the history, complexity and backstories for some of the famous winemakers in the Bordeaux region. We found the entire trip to be both entertaining and enriching for our lifelong journey in wine appreciation. Most importantly, the lesson was not lost on us when he took us to neighboring vineyards which produced arguably similar wines but at astronomically different prices ;) Convenient door-to-door service is a big plus for me and lunch at the Lynch-Bages estate was an excellent choice (certainly to try the different wines by the glass). We'll definitely engage Hamish again if we return to Bordeaux or take up on his offer if we ever visit the Languedoc region.
