“Pullman hotel view was the aircon unit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 August 2014

As a family we prepaid hotels via booking.com for the first time. As we all know France is famous destination especially in summer. Our first stop was Bordeaux. Stayed at Pullman decided to gave us this horrible view after a long drive from uk. On the website it was all nice and beautiful lake (I wish I know how to paste photo) we complain but they say; all rooms are full. When we threatened them were moving they eventually find us the room the following day day.
Yes, room are what we expect for 4* and clean. They could do with proper cups and saucers for hot drink- not paper cup. No milk for tea, just a cream for coffee. Pool was okay. Breakfast was okay, pull of bread after bread.
The lift is only 2 for the whole hotel and each lift take only 3 person at a time.?
To stay here you need to have a car or on a public transport. Is not walking distance to the town.

Room Tip: Not on 2nd floor 246, 247..... Ask for the lake view seen on the web.

Stayed at this hotel whilst on business in the city. The hotel staff where very friendly ,mThe rooms were clean and comfortably furnished and (as I'd requested one) had a great view over the lake. I mainly ate breakfast at the hotel (going out in town at night with colleagues) , there was a good selection of food available that would suit all breakfast tastes. The tram line to the city centre is currently being extended and once open (which it may well be by now, as work was almost finished on it when I was there) will have a stop directly in front of the hotel, the run into town will take around 15-20 mins . Would I stay there again? Absolutely.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the lake

We were in Bordeaux for three nights with our child. It is a business style hotel on the edge of Bordeaux. Positives are good reception staff, breakfast, good size rooms that a clean and comfortable, good facilities near for kids bowling etc. The negatives are poor gym and small pool for this class of hotel. The hotel bar is priced like the majority of business hotels. We only had a tapas selection at the bar so cannot comment on the restaurant.
Be careful with the bus on Sundays long wait!

Well, it's a four stars Pullman, that means the rooms are impeccable, the staff is welcoming and the breakfast is good. As usuall, for all the Pullmans in the world (I've been in a lot of Em), the main problem is the AC, never work as expected. In Bordeaux's Pullman that's probably well known, since the house keepers set the temperature for 10C.

Spent 4 nights here. All very good. Rooms very comfortable. Area a bit like university campus but public transport excellent. Food excellent value for money. Reception staff very helpful and welcoming. Free wifi but doesn't always work.

This 4-star pullman is not as nice as the sister hotel in Montpelier. The room is OK--small but functional. The internet works fine, although you have to register again and again and agin. The staff at the front desk are really friendly and kind, especially the two gentlemen. This is the biggest plus.

Negatives:
1. The hotel is at a strange location, in the middle of nowhere. It is next to a pretty deserted convention center and other business hotels, but no restaurants or coffee shops. The hotel staff kept telling us not to leave anything in the car, even though the car was parked in the secured hotel parking lot. It is not a nice neighborhood. Although it is not far from the Bordeaux center (you can take the tram C and get to the center in 15 min), the area feels very desolate. You do not feel like you are on vacation.

2. the restaurant is terrible! We had one dinner there, and it was bad, really bad. This is sad because this area of France is so good with wine and food. instead of cooking the local cuisine that they are good at, they have to take care of the "international palate" by introducing bad junk food in the menu. Why don't they go back to something they know what to do?

3. The parking fee is ridiculous. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere with lots of parking space. Why charge, on top of the hotel cost?! Nobody can get to the hotel without a car because it is in the middle of nowhere. Parking should already be included.

Dear travel-world-mom,

I’m really sorry to see that we didn’t fulfil with your entire satisfaction on your recent stay with us. Please accept my sincerest apologies for the inconveniences you encountered during your visit, particularly in our restaurant .

I would like to inform visitors that we can propose at walking distance from out hotel a Casino, A bowling, a karting, several restaurants and Bordeaux Lac is at the doorsteps from vinyards of Médoc even if it is a important place for congres .

I hope this experience will not deter you from staying with us again in the future.

Kind regards,
