Stayed her 2 nights in July 2014. Average hotell, but the breakfast buffet is not the best I've seen. They have parking (inside a looked gate) for 6 Euro per day. The room we lived in had a fridge and posibilities to make your own food.

As we were travelling on a budget, this was perfect choice for us. We stayed here for three nights and didn't face any major issues. Check in was smooth and staff helpful and friendly. We had booked a "suite", but I would rather call it a standard room. Mini-kitchen was good enough for our needs (made our own breakfast) but not enough utensils to actually cook properly. Good supermarket close by. Free wifi always a big plus.

As a downside, you need to hold the shower over your head and the hairdryer didn't work and wasn't fixed during our stay eventhough we informed the staff. When booking this place, note that the reception is unmanned during the night. If you have late arrival, you need to be in contact with them before arrival. That was mentioned in our booking confirmation but we saw one man arriving late at night who hadn't noticed this. Security wasn't an issue for us, but maybe if I was travelling solo I would prefer having a manned reception.

We don't have complaints about the location or its safety. Some small bars/cafes in the street, quiet at night, no traffic noise. It is not in the heart of the old town, but short walk to tram stop and a bus stops right in front of the hotel. But often we walked to the city centre and back aso at night.

To sum up, it's basic and you get what you pay for.

Room Tip: Recommend to book a suite instead of a standard room

We booked last minute for our trip to Bordeaux. Victoria Garden had a decent deal on last minute bookings and seemingly a good location so we went with it. Please don't make the same mistake.

My wife and I are walkers when we go on vacations, we like to take in the city and get a true feel for it. Victoria Garden is not that close to the main areas of town and more importantly there were some areas that we didn't feel comfortable walking through at night.

For the hotel itself, the room was large -- that is the one plus -- but very dated, the AC didn't work and you had to hold up the shower head to take a shower. All in all, not a good experience.

The first day of our trip was a big disappointment due to all of the facts above. So much so that we changed hotels. We had to give a 24 hour notice so we had to struggle through another day, but at least we were able to change.

Again, the price wasn't bad so if that's all that you are looking for then give it a go. Additionally, there is a close metro and a bike station (but the bike station was empty both days in the morning and full the time we road them back) so if walking around isn't too important to you then you may have a different experience.

For a much better, more walkable experience, please stay somewhere else.

I stayed here as a solo traveller for 3 nights.
My room was great. It had a kitchenette which was useful and moderately equipped, a good size bathroom and tea/coffee making facilities. The hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful, I arrived earlier than check-in time and they found me a room that was ready straight way.
There was a good choice at the buffet style breakfast which i had including in my room price. They also offered free wifi which is always a bonus.
Being a lone female, the location of the hotel wasn't great, I had to walk for 10 minutes along a dark side road to get to the outskirts of the main town. Although, I did feel safe enough. Security is an issue as there is no 24hr reception. When I returned very late one evening, 2 gentlemen were waiting outside to be let in being unable to use the keypad access. Unfortunately, there was an issue with noise levels from other rooms which woke me up during the night.
I would return to this hotel but not as a solo traveller due to the issue with the location.

We stayed here for a short stay in May and felt that the hotel offered good value for money ..with amoma.com through trivago. There was a small kitchenette section with a fridge , 2 ring hob and microwave which was ideal. There were also tea making facilities (although only 1 mug),
However the hotel entrance was rather dark and dingy, and the hotel itself is not as close to the place victoire as we thought it was....1/2 km down the cours de ls somme. The hotel could have been a little cleaner and we were unable to hang the shower head up on the wall to take a shower.

I have been in November in the hotel with friends. First, it offers 3-bed-rooms which gives smaller groups a better possibility to stay together without paying to much. The rooms were furnished basically and with a small kitchen. Room and bathroom were clean.
It is well situated in the city centre but with a short walk to the station and the pedestrian zone.

The hotel was absolutey sufficient for our need, but on the other it also does not offer so much value above that. If you want to just sleep in a clean room and to have a nice bathroom, it's the right choice.

We stayed in this hotel for one night on our way to south west France simply to break our long journey. Reception on arrival were very helpful. After a good evening out in Bordeaux we returned to unmanned reception and then to our room. When we woke in the morning we discovered that whilst we had been asleep somebody had entered our room stealing a smart phone and a tablette. When we rushed to reception to ask for them to get the police they simply gave us the address of the police station. They then told us that the same had happened to another guest. Some hours later when we returned from the police station we were provided a refund but whilst there, the receptionist was in the process of handing out the hotel pass key to a resident who had locked hers in the room. In fairness, another member of hotel staff stopped her doing this. Whilst they were apologetic and said they would change the room keys I could not recommend this hotel to anybody.
