They let you taste the wine before buying it! Even if you're just getting a glass. The lunch selection is a delicious contrast of possibilities. Sleek modern setting in classy limestone old town. Gotta go back to try dinner one night.

A nice relatively small contemporary restaurant in the heart of the city, just near the Opera House.

The manager (Samuel) was very accommodating including providing an excellent vegetarian option which did not feature on the menu, something many other restaurants were not interested in.

The food was great with each member of our 6 person party enjoying most dishes available. There is no specific wine menu instead you are invited to sample from a huge variety on the bar, picking a bottle of your choice. Help and assistance from the friendly staff was much appreciated.

All staff had a great command of English and Samuel in particular was extremely helpful, ensuring everybody enjoyed their food and the atmosphere.

All in all I couldn't recommend Elvis highly enough. Well worthy of my 5 star rating.

Lovely food, good menu and being able to taste the wine before you buy was a lovely touch, staff were very helpful and chef provided a good meal for a vegetarian in our party, something that other restaurants in Bordeaux failed to offer, Elvis was good value and I would highly recommend.

Lovely food. We booked a day previous and asked if the restaurant could adapt the menu for one of our company who is vegetarian. Samuel came up with a lovely starter and main course....really well thought through.

The regular menu was good and the wine tasting before you select is a really nice touch.

Highly recommended

Elvis was a pleasure from the moment we walked inside. We were warmly greeted and as it was still 7:30PM we were the first patrons of the evening. The decor is modern and fun and the owner's photography from around the world is hung everywhere to enjoy.

The menu is brief but easy to understand and can be adjusted to your tastes by switching items from another menu complet. We were invited to the bar to select our wines and were given tastings of many more than we would expect. The owner was overjoyed to tell us about them and watch us enjoy the differences.

Lovely chevre salad to start and my wife chose entrecôte (steak) and I St. Jacques (scallops) and both were well presented and extremely delicious. Their pommes frites were exceptional. Desserts were yummy- one being cream puffs with chocolate and the other difficult to explain but good in any case.

Total cost with two bottles of mineral water, wine and full meals was eur 98 which we thought reasonable for the quality of food, wine and service.

BTW, the story of Elvis has nothing to do with The King but rather a CIA operative in Argentina who the owner claims saved his life a few years ago!
