“A visit to Bordeaux and the great wineries”

We (included my wife and 6 close friends) visited Bordeaux from 4 May to 9 May and our main purpose was to visit the wineries in the region. The accommodation is very ideal for a group of 6 to eight persons, family or close friends. The 4 rooms were spacious and tidy, among which there were 2 en-suites plus 1 bath room and 1 toilet. There were ample cooking facilities in the kitchen and we normally cooked our dinner there after a day's travelling. We really had a good time in Bordeaux and we enjoyed the atmosphere that hotels cannot provide.

“The Gite was perfect.”
Reviewed 15 June 2015 for a stay in May 2015

We Arrived at the property very late due to major delays with our flight, yet the owner of the Gite was there to greet us and hand over the keys. The Gite is very well presented clean and airy, we were blessed with good weather so we all made good use of the swimming pool. The property is in an ideal location there are shops within walking distance and much bigger supermarket's just a fifteen minute drive away. The owner speaks English and was so helpful when we had a flat tyre she spoke to the relevant people for us.The property and the gardens are much bigger than they look in the photo's, we enjoyed our stay so much we have decided we will return in the future.

“Great accomodation, local shops, and helpful owners”

We travelled with 2 other couples and 1 additional friend [total of 7]. Accomodation is well presented, rooms are more than ample and the outside space is great. We especially liked the three outside seating areas which meant that we could all have our own little bit of space if we wanted!
I reached out to the owners before we travelled as we were looking for ideas to go wine tasting ...... they were able to arrange a tasting at the Gite at a reasonable price which meant none of us had to drive.
Basic shops, including the all important bakery are within walking distance.

“A Very Enjoyable Stay”

We spent 3 nights at this quiet, peaceful and comfortable place on our trip to Bordeaux. The house is spacious and clear with complete facilities. The layout is very user friendly, especially for elderly because there are two bedrooms on the ground floor. We like the country style of the house. The owner, Denis, lives next door with her family. The folks are very friendly and helpful. Denis gave us a bottle of white wine on our arrival.

We visited vineyards and drove to the beaches, had lunches at local restaurants, and prepared dinners at the house every evening. We dined on the patio in the garden under the open sky, enjoyed the full moon and good wine. We would love to stay there again with a bigger party on our next visit.

The house has convenient access, but you need to drive. GPS is recommended. If you are flying into Bordeaux in the morning, you may want to ask the owner if you can check in earlier before 3pm. If early check-in is not available, you may visit one of the small town centers in the vicinity for lunch and a quick tour.

“A beautiful bolt hole.”

The photos do not do this place justice. Of course, it looks lovely (or we wouldn't have booked it) - but we were over the moon with just how beautiful it is in real life.

The owners have done a wonderful and sympathetic renovation. Lovely muted colours, pared back but elegant interiors. Each bedroom with its own en-suite. We all felt instantly relaxed.

Great location - just 20-25 into Bordeaux by car. 7 min drive to a big super market, 2 minute drive to a local supermarket. Most critically the Boulangerie can be walked to.

The garden is stunning and quiet. The pool was too cool for me in April, but of course it didn't bother the kids in the slightest and they adored it.

We did trips in the morning and lazed languorously by the pool in the afternoon. It was utter bliss.
