“Cheap apart-hotel”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 June 2012

Arrived at 10am, but despite not being allowed to check in till 3pm, the helpful check in lady, who spoke good English, allowed us to leave our case.
Comfortable bed, 'compact' bathroom, no kettle, just two rings and a microwave, so not suitable for too much cooking!
All in all a satisfactory cheap place to lay your head

When we entered the room, we noticed the bad smell immediately. There should be a coffee pot but we don't have. The facility is ok because it's an apartment-style hotel. You can buy the raw food and cook in the room. The location is ok. You can buy almost everything from Carrefour City, which is open until 22:00 in working days.

It's strange, I've got so negative impression and see review of other travellers, who are satisfied, so probably I just had wrong expectations, coz I usually stay in common hotels, not B&B or residence. So, it's not a hotel, it's residence, more for long stay. It's not easy to find it, as it is inside the courtyard, not on the street, so I passed courtyard 5 times before I was directed by nice local girl. The reception is not 24 hours, so take care about it in advance and if you are arriving out of working hours call to the hotel in advance.
I arrived to a hotel on Fri eve, 5 min before reception closure and staff was really unhappy to wait me and serve me, so not really polite or efficient (she started the famous 'song': It's France and people don't have to speak English here). The location is ok, 2-3 tram stop from the city centre or 15 min walk, there are lots of nice restaurant nearby.
The hotel doesn't have public areas (lobby, bar), you enter your room from an open corridor. Room looked kinda boring and poor, but clean. It had convertible sofa and kitchenette with all equipment. Wi-fi should be free, but didn't work.

i don't really understand all the negative reviews! my experience here, considering the price, has been great. lots of storage, wifi, fab mini kitchen that's well equipped, nice bathroom. all clean. only pain was the slight problem of getting the keycard, it's worth calling in advance if you're arriving after 8pm to get the front door and safe codes to save you a hassle. other than that a pleasant stay. my two digs would be slightly uncomfortable pillows and the heating does take a while to kick in so it's been a bit chilly.

Amazingly cheap so we werent expecting much but the room was spacious with small kitchen, fridge, etc, tv, table, large wardrobe. Nice bathroom with bath too! Good location near the quay so you can walk into town from here too. Overall a real bargain!!

After a shopkeeper gave me the directions to this Hotel appartment in the Chartrons area of Bordeaux I checked in at 17.00hrs. I was given a security code for the door as the reception area is closed after 20.00hrs. I found my room to be clean and tidy with cooking facilities as expected. The shower was fine but a big chip on the bath near the plughole was not to my liking.
Bed was basic but comfortable.
My room was near a gymnasium nearby and there was a lot of noise sounding like air conditioning all evening even though my room was not air conditioned. In the mornings the sound of lots of children is prominent. So a rather noisey place. Streets nearby were grubby and plenty of dogs had fouled the streets and not been cleared up! The best thing I can say is that 3 nights came to 168 Euros or £51 per night which is good compared to inner city Hotel Rates per night. However, break fast is not included as that is another 9 Euros per day (optional).
If you don`t mint a bit of noise then it is basic and fairly good value for money.

Room Tip: I was in room 103 and found it to be adequate for what I expected for the price paid.

There is no receptionist at this hotel after 20.00 so if you arrive later than this be prepared to make a phone call to the security company who will give you a code to open a safe that contains an envelope with your key.
Our room was not clean, especially the toilet which was dirty- and as there was no receptionist when we arrived, there was no way to get toilet paper as it had not been replenished after the previous guest.
The pillows are terrible and our room was not made up during our 3- night stay. I tried to ask the receptionist about it and instead of talking to me, she chose to take a phone call which lasted more than 10 minutes, so I gave up waiting. She was not helpful at all.
If it's 3 or 2 stars you're looking for, this is not it- I would say it's 1 star if there is such a thing. I have stayed in youth hostels which have been better than this. The price for this hotel is reasonable, and that is why we stayed there- but even then it was not worth it. I would have rather paid more than to have stayed here. The location is not great either.

Room Tip: Don't stay here!
