My wife and I were looking for a place in this part of Biarritz (which we know well) which is quiet and yet close to the centre. The hotel was exactly what we wanted: newly refurbished, very nice room, relaxed and friendly staff. We would definitely come here again.

The Bon Coin is a great place to experience the 'genuine' Biarritz, a place which many local surfers and Basque country rugby players call 'home'. Completely revamped over the winter, you will be warmly greeted by your hosts, Caroline and Dominique. The Bon Coin is next door to Biarritz's best 'boulangerie' and is a five minute stroll to the beach. If you are looking for authenticity and genuine kindness, the Bon Coin is the place for you.

Room Tip: Try to bok a room on the third floor with a magnificent view of the Atlantic ocean.

To find it we asked in a bar for directions, it turned out the bar was the reception. We were asked to pay in full before seeing the room, this concerned us, so we demanded to see the room - which was grotty and unclean. Afraid of paying the cancellation fee, we agreed to stay. Overcharged, we had to correct the price. Then on the second day the manager rang our room to tell us we had to move room within 30 minutes as a family were after arriving that needed our room. His reasoning was that we had paid for 2 people, yet we were staying in a 3 person room. We tried to tell him this was his mistake, not ours, but he was beyond reasoning with - suddenly he no longer spoke English. Cleaning staff tried to enter the room to hurry us up as we were getting dressed and re-packing. Such was their perseverance it would not have surprised us if we had returned from the beach to find all our stuff had been moved to the new room. To add insult to injury, our new room was a box room that definitely was closer to a single than a double. A lot of the towels had stains on them, and some still smelled of body odour despite apparently having been washed. No apologies were offered to us, no respect shown, and grossly overpriced - I'd urge anyone thinking of staying here not to, it's not worth the hassle and disrespect.

Room Tip: If you are unfortunate enough to have to stay here, the unscrupulous owner will try and get you to p...

Worst hotel I have ever experienced... Not even really a hotel! A room above a pub. Good location, ok price (if you didnt know what you were getting for it) but TERRIBLE service- very very rude, unhelpful and dismissive, and the rooms were shocking! Dirty, old, small and smelt like vomit...
pLUS as it was above a pub, it was very noisy, which went on until 3am.
Gorgeous town, but stay anywhere but here...

Stayed in this hotel for one night and that was enough!!. They told us when we booked through the tourist information one price and on arrival the charged us 1 extra euro for something we don't know!!! (maybe the towels???).
The carpet in the room was dirty, The en-suite bathroom was separated from the room by a plastic shutter.
Only stay there if there is nothing else available.
