The Barnetche's rooms are simple, but new, functional and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was rather basic, as is to be expected in France. Location is brilliant, just steps from Biarritz town and the sea front. It's quiet at night, which is important to me, and you can even find parking around the hotel, which is a challenge in this city. The best thing about the Barnetche, though, was the very warm welcome we received from the host family. They are happy to help you with any advice you might require, and clearly love their city. You can blindly trust their restaurant recommendations! I found the room a bit expensive for France - then again, this is Biarritz. So, all in all, highly recommended in its category.

Stayed here during a quick one night visit to Biarritz with friends in early July 2014. Good location near parking and Central Biarritz and very friendly (English speaking) and helpful staff! Would stay here again.

It's a small, well-situated, family-owned, quiet, clean, simple and cosy hotel within 5 minutes walk to the city centre and the sandy beach.
The owners make your stay comfortable, make you feel welcome, cared for and valued, very much at home.
The typical French style breakfast was included into the price: loved their divine croissants with delicious fragrant coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice!
The room might seem small for some, but it was big enough for us two and impeccably clean. There was everything we needed for a short stay: a soft spacious bed, excellent power shower, a TV, free WI FI, to be on the top floor was a big bonus.
I must say that the Lady owner was very helpful, recommended us a lot of enchanting destinations to visit!
It is a highly commended place to stay!

Room Tip: All rooms are quiet and comfortable, although I preferred the top floor with the roofs view.

The hotel room itself was small enough but was fine for what we needed and it was clean and well looked after. It was ensuite with a tiny shower but loads of hot water and very powerful. The owner was very helpful for pointing out restarants, markets and finding the bus station. We paid extra for breakfast on the first morning - 8.50e for OJ, Baguette, croissant & coffee which was nice but can be gotten down town for 6.90e

Room Tip: Don't forget to use the shutters to keep out the light as the curtains are not meant for that pu...

We were delighted to find that the Barnetche had a room available for our fleeting 24 hour visit to Biarritz this weekend. Not only is the Barnetche excellent value they also have parking in their own garage. A real bonus. The owners are extremely pleasant. Monsieur carried our heavy suitcase up to our room with the ease of a professional weight lifter and Madame was welcoming and charming.

The entrance and lobby has beautiful antique furniture which belies the basic simplicity of the bedrooms which are small, functional but spotlessly clean (as one would expect!). But we didn't come to Biarritz to stay in the room and at 100 euros we were entirely satisfied with the value of our accommodation. My only tip for future potential visitors who are larger in size than they would like to be is that they may just struggle to turn round in the shower!

Room Tip: Ask the friendly owners if you have any particular requirements. We only saw our room and that was...

Friendly owner, close walk to the City center. Parking behind the house and simple breakfast included. Can recommend.

The charming reception gave us a first good impression of this hotel. But don´t be cheated, the charm and comfort did not reach the rooms at all.
The room was really small and so was the bed. There was no closet, just a little open space to hang the clothes. No TV, an intermittent internet connection, a small desk with one chair blocking the bathroom door. The bathroom was very small as well, specially the shower (so small that I could not shave my legs) The water flow is very poor, so it takes ten minutes to get the shampoo off the hair.
The decoration was ugly, everything was made to just to last: ugly floor, ugly furniture, ugly bed cover.
One think that really bothered me is that with all the nice options to have breakfast at Biarritz, we were obliged to have breakfast at the hotel for I think it was 7 euros each. The breakfast consisted of bad orange juice, a coffee, a croissant, and bread with marmalade.
The hotel location was quiet and quite centric (the only good thing), the room was well insulated from the exterior, but not from inside, so we were awaken everyday around eight by other customers. The room was clean.
The room was in a third floor with no elevator, not big deal for us, except when we had to carry our luggage up and down.
