Nice view but crowded : hard to find the right time table to be almost alone there. But the view is nice.

Those of a strong religious bent will no doubt find this 'attraction' spiritually uplifting. For those 'born again atheists', it provides a pleasant stroll along the clifftop with nice views and a walk over one of Mr Eiffels lesser known acheivements to the rock with a small statue of the Virgin Mary. See it if you are in Biarritz, but don't make a special trip.

We just wandered through Biarritz and happened upon the Virgin on the Rock without knowing what it actually was! It is worth wandering around here, it is quieter than other areas, its nice to get a little peace. You get some lovely views from here.

I arrived at the esplanade. In front of me a footbridge streches into the sea,to a rocky islet that takes its name from the the statue crowning it. Its said, that this statue protected the sailors and fishers in the Bay of Biscay.
The designer of the Eiffle Tower supervised the construction of the footbridge. The walk out to the edge of of the rock, with crashing surf on both sides,is the most dramatic in Biarritz. From here i could see to the south, all the way to the mountains of the Spanish Basque country.

Combine it with a visit to the aquarium. You get great views along the coast and back towards the main beach
