We've just returned from our third stay at this lovely hotel. Previously we've stayed as a family in the summer; this time we returned as a couple, and it was a little out of season, with less-than-perfect weather, but the convenient location of this hotel for beach walks and the proximity to some excellent bars and restaurants mean that it remains one of our favourites.

This time we were only able to use the rooftop pool area once, due to bad weather. The bar area is being renovated, but should soon be finished. The small fitness suite was also moved during our stay from the 1st floor to the basement. The suite really is composed of one rower, one treadmill and a cross-trainer - the bike was removed during our stay. So in the event of bad weather, the fitness suite isn't really an option.

We have always found the hotel staff here to be helpful and efficient. This time they gave us details of how to get to the station via the 10 bus and from there we went to St. Jean de Luz, which is a great day out and well worth the visit.

Biarritz remains one of my favourite resorts and I would still make this my first choice of hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for sea view if possible,

The hotel is is a beautiful location with the shops and cafes of Biarritz nearby. The rooms are a good size and very clean. Breakfast buffet was extensive - something for everyone. Staff very helpful. Would thoroughly recommend the spa for a very relaxing hot stone massage.

First, my secret - I afforded this on points gained from business travel. So 4 nights cost not a lot. And we were given an upgrade to a quiet corner room, with a bathroom 'port hole' view of the sea and the mountains. This had a large double bed, a kettle, a supply of bottled water and a short trip to the pool on the roof - the pool was warm enough to enjoy, altho' the wind can blow.

Skipped breakfast on all but the last morning when it was raining and we needed the fresh fruit, protein & calories for our onward journey - then we felt that they cost that is mentioned by others was well justified. It's true that there are plenty of alternative places nearby en route to the beach in which to eat a traditional French breakfast, especially as there are tea making faciities in the room.

All the staff we encountered were courteous, and a special mention for the staff in the resturant on the roof who were kind & attentive at various times - and good food served there too for the one meal we ate there (soup was delicious).

I've knocked off a point as there was a loud dripping noise outside one of our windows on the two nights that it rained. I reported that so hopefully it will be fixed for your stay.

And yes, the location is good. A very short walk and you are either seated at one of a number of good restuarants or down on the beach below - where we ate one of our breakfasts before walking around the headland - and a little longer and you are either at the harbour, into the town or onto the plage for a swim.

As I said, lots to recommend.

It might be useful to know if you are arriving by train, that the 10 bus stops outside the hotel for only 1 euro. I does meander a bit but that is part of the delight, and a taxi back to catch 'that train' is not so much.

Nice hotel, very good service. Loved the pool on the roof, it was nice and warm even if the weather was a bit cloudy. Didn't buy the €23 breakfast, there are lots of nice bakeries close by where you can buy croissants or sandwiches (and we got to sleep in). Good location, close to everything important in Biarritz.

Hotel experience was spoiled by price. Hotel facilities were what you would expect from Radisson, luxurious and contemporary but far too pricey, especially the breakfast at 23euro per person. Difficult to okay 46euro for 2 for breakfast, need to eat a lot for that rate! There were not many in hotel restaurant either, too expensive? Reception staff quite unfriendly, even condescending!

We booked last minute on the day and got a reasonable rate but our perception cannot be geared to that fact. The hotel sets itself international standards and meets most of them but at that level criticisms are liable. The rooftop pool is too small if the hotel is crowded and certainly if it is full of manic children. Our room was most comfortable but had a large pillar in the middle of it which could surprise you getting out of bed in the dark! The room was generally quiet but nothing protects against the swimming pool kids running obstacle course races in the room above at 23:30. The management were very considerate to our appeals and stopped the games. The breakfast wasn't inclusive so we paid the true price, which is eye watering but it was one of the better hotel breakfasts that we have had and the service is first class. WiFi is free, fast and easy to access. Two other small matters. Why do hotels of this class not install thermostatic bath and shower controls? And why do they never pu t an electric outlet next to the bed so that you can charge you cellphone and have it handy during the night? Otherwise the Radison provided a very comfortable overnight stop. My ratings are based on the class of hotel and not the price we paid.
