This is a fantastic 3* hotel located less than 2 minutes from a fabulous beach and a 10 minute walk into the centre of Biarritz. The hotel was completely refurbished in mid-2008 and has a very simple but contemporary look to it. It is very clean with all the basics that you need. The staff spoke fluent English, were extremely friendly and provided some great restaurant recommendations in the local area.

This was a bit of a last resort- the only hotel with a vacancy and we got their last available room.
First impressions were not great. The hotel building has a seventies look and feel to it, and we probably wouldn't have gone in if there had been a choice.
It is quite a distance from the centre of Biarritz and rather isolated, sandwiched between two roads, beside a supermarket and a couple of small shops. Apart from Biarritz airport and two nice surfing beaches which are within 5 minutes walk, there isn't much else close by. To get into Biarritz town takes about half a hour on foot but there is free car parking on site.
Didn't try the onsite restaurant, but found a good place to eat about 10 minutes walk down the road on the way into Biarritz called Meson la Tantina de Burgos. The only other dining nearby seemed limited to a restaurant on the beach. The hotel provides free internet accessin the lobby, but the connection speed was painfully slow.
Our room was on the top floor with a small balcony and faced the back of the hotel with views of the supermarket. Decor was inexpensive, corporate and dated, but the room was spacious and clean and the bed was comfortable. Some rooms have balconies with seaviews and face the front of the hotel- would definitely go for one of those if there is a choice.

Despite suffering some noise from early morning deliveries to the supermarket and the occasional plane, we thought that the hotel was reasonably good value for money at only 60 euros for 1 night (discounted from 80).

All in all, Le Biarritz turned out not to be too bad a choice particularly as we had a car.
