Charming hotel which tries to maintain the style of a turn of the century French country house. Attentive, attractive staff operate in a peaceful and relaxed setting with an air of quiet refinement. Rooms were immaculately clean; breakfast on the terrace a delight. I wish I could've stayed more than one night.

A nice hotel with a atmosphere and character.

Staff were very friendly and always willing to help.

Seemed a perhaps a little expensive for what was available.

No parking with the hotel and parking in the surrounding area was sometimes difficult to find.

No lift but only 2 or 3 floors so not a big problem.

No pool but close enough to the beach that it didn't matter.

Within easy walking distance of several pleasant bars, cafes and restaurants.

My husband and I stayed here for three nights and adored it. The staff were incredibly helpful; my husband needed to see a doctor and they helped us navigate the process. The rooms are spacious and the building is charming. It's a great deal for the money and I couldn't recommend this hotel more highly. Excellent!

Where do I start? Upon our arrival, our first impressions of the hotel were good. We got there far earlier than check-in time, as our flight was very early and were pleased to be offered our room straight away. We were given the key to room 101 on the ground floor. DO NOT ACCEPT THIS ROOM! We were a little perplexed as to why the receptionist ran down before us with a canister of air-freshner! Room 101 was very damp. The carpet was wet around the edges and the bedding was damp. The room smelled very bad, to the point of making me wretch and the ceiling was covered in mould. To top it all off there was a thick layer of dust covering most pieces of furniture in the room. After bravely spending one night in this room, my husband and I decided to complain, as we were not prepared to spend the next six nights in that room. We were offered room 107 on the first floor for five nights and were then told we would have to change for the last night. We had to accept this and were happy to find room 107 quite acceptable, albeit once again a thick layer of dust covering the furniture. Our booking was made through a third party which, on the booking itinarary, noted that you can give the hotel up to three days notice if you want to leave. My husband and I decided to do this, as the weather wasn't too good in Biarritz. My husband first approched reception to sort this out and was told that we could not do this, as it was hotel policy to give a months notice during peak season. We were not told this upon arrival and the hotel website does not state this. Furthermore, like I said our booking operator stated that we could give three days notice. I therefore, decided to go and speak with reception about this and was met with a very rude response. I tried to explain the situation and showed the receptionist the booking form. I was told we could leave on the sixth day, as it was convenient for them because we would have to change rooms on that day anyway. I stood my ground and said that we should be able to leave on the fifth day, as we were not told about their month in advance policy. The receptionist eventually agreed, but made our stay quite uncomfortable from then on.
To conclude, the hotel is in a good location and our second room was ok. However, for the money you pay you would expect better. Moreover, please call the hotel before to confirm booking terms and conditions and beware of snotty staff!

We do not recommend this hotel.
While our first impressions were positive, on the morning of checkout, we woke up to find multiple bites all over our bodies and assumed they were simple mosquito bites. Upon arrival back home the same day, the bites had increased to the size of welts and became very painful. They were confirmed by our doctor as being consistent with bed bug bites. We reported our experience and facts to the hotel owner (who refused to disclose his/her name) and 3 weeks later we are still suffering from the bites, i.e. itching, marks, scarring, and have received no acceptance of responsibility or any compensation from the hotel.
WE DEFINITELY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL.

This hotel is well situated, a ten-minute walk from the centre of Biarritz. It is beautifully decorated with French style and our room was large, with two lovely windows, a balcony and a large bathroom. The bathroom was clean, but there was some serious dust on some of the ledges in the bedroom. Also there was a stain on the sheets on one of our twin beds (note: book a twin room and you get 2 single beds side by side). No English channels (not even Euronews) on the TV. Also note that the bottled water in the mini bar is not free of charge - it's €2.00 per small bottle. There is no price list anywhere in the room, so you are supposed to be divinely inspired on this point, it seems. Breakfast is adequate, but expensive (€10 per head) for what you get. We stayed for 5 nights, on the first two mornings, we got freshly squeezed orange juice, by morning three it had changed to concentrated OJ. Only mini croissants and pain au chocolat, not the full sized ones. It is only a small hotel run by a few staff, who could do with some lessons in friendliness. They are perfectly professional but maintain a cool neutrality at all times. Of course, this is probably neither or here nor there, but simply a point to note. Finally, there is no lift, so people with weak knees or heavy luggage should beware. Overall an average hotel for the price paid.
