“Do not be fooled!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 September 2013

Beware of the bipolar hotel manageress! She was smiling one day and made a perverted joke that my bf found inappropriate, but he let it slide. The next morning she attacked us when we (gently) complained about the quality of the bed. She told us we were “complicated” and that we were free to “find ourselves another hotel” (which was obvious at that point). Upon check-out, we paid for the night without a word to her and as we left, she cried out to us “I hope you find a palace!” The complete lack of professionalism coupled with the hostility was absolutely shocking! My advice: don’t waste your time with this place. Every minute in Biarritz is precious.

This hotel is really well located on the Rue de Port Vieux. The owners also own the bar/restaurant opposite so it's handy for breakfast, and the place has a good vibe.
The owner is very warm and relaxed, and all the staff are friendly. Biarritz is quite pricey so we were limited in our choices.
The room was clean, and the shower was good. The towels were replaced every day. My main complaint about the room was that it was interior so the windows looked out onto the other windows. This meant that it was very gloomy and we could not tell what the weather was like without leaving the hotel! It is important in Biarritz to have a nice room because the weather can be quite wet so you don't always want to spend the whole day outdoors.
Other annoyances which we didn't report (out of laziness) was that the cupboard door was broken, and the remote control was held together not very effectively with masking tape, so the batteries kept falling out.
The room has a safe for your valuables and the wi-fi is free and reliable.
I would stay there again if I could have an exterior facing room because of the location and the staff.

The restaurant across the road (le palarium) has a mixed crowd. Young people drinking massive jugs of beer and enormous cocktails mixed with families and locals. I liked the atmosphere. The cooked breakfast (eggs, ham and cheese) is enormous and sets you up for the day. Their paella is absolutely delicious too.

Room Tip: Ask for an exterior facing room.

I stay in this hotel more then 4 times and is the best on Biarritz. The rooms are clean, the location is stuning 300 mts from the beach and the staff is amazing. Michelle the proprietarie is a fantastic french woman and she help you in wherever you need and anytime. The in internet is fast and the rooms are renewed every year. My first time here was in 2010 and I come every year. The family owned the restaurant Le Palmarium who have the best Paella on the planet! And the surfshop in next door as well is family business. Best place to stay in Biarritz hightly recomended!! Class A+++

Room Tip: Take the rooms from the street view and you can see the restaurant and all the social night life in...

This is the only fault I can find with this lovely hotel. Great location and very friendly and helpful staff. It was too hot to close the windows but they were happy to provide a fan.

I'd recommend the associated restaurant and bar across the road too!

This hotel is a definite step up from the usual 3 star French hotel experience. The rooms are spotlessly clean, have been renovated and they have White duvets and comfy pillows too. The bathrooms are newly renovated, mosaic tiles, new showers. Flat screen tvs and our room had a balcony with a sea view. The staff are so helpful and welcoming. The location is perfect, 2 steps from the beach, the street is lively with shops and bars, a real holiday atmosphere. Central to everything in the centre of a great town.

Found hotel by accident very modern and spotlessly clean rooms, very friendly staff at a good value for money rate stayed in room 19 which had a balcony. Sound proof windows and shutters and a huge very comfortable bed would definitely recommend staying at this hotel and will return as soon as possible.

We were really impressed with this small hotel, literally a minute walk from the beach. The room was a good size, modern and with a large ensuite. Our room (19) had a balcony which gave a lovely view of the beach. The hotel owns the bar/restaurant opposite which sells good value and tasty food. We would highly recommend and definately stay at again if we return to Biarritz.
