“A House to Envy!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 January 2014

This ancient and beautiful house has been most carefully restored and most comfortably furnished so that now it provides three large double bedrooms, each with their own bathroom, two lovely drawing rooms and a large kitchen where one can make a hot drink or use the fridge. The location is perfect, close to the river in the old part of Bergerac where the maze of narrow streets gives you cafes, restaurants and charming little shops very close at hand yet it is also close to the huge free carpark. The quiet little square in which it sits, has a lovely statue of the famed Cyrano de Bergerac so it is easy to find. We had the twin bed room at the top of the house which entails many stairs but worth it for the views. We stayed in winter yet the house was beautifully warm. The experienced hosts know well just what is useful and helpful for their guests. Personally I longed to own the house!

Room Tip: Travel light if you want the top room but actually the other two are equally charming.

My wife and I recently spent four nights at Bruce and Rosetta's place and had a great time. As the other reviewers indicated the location is great with lots of great restaurants and places to see within a five minute walk. Most were even closer. Our room with a double bed overlooked an amazing courtyard yet was very quiet overnight. Breakfast was served at a very civilised hour and was a great way to start the day. The room was very clean and a good size for a couple with a lot of stuff. Highly recommended.

We enjoyed a wonderful night in Bergerac staying at the beautiful and historic Le Logis Plantagenet. The hosts are charming and couldn't have been more helpful we thoroughly enjoyed chatting with them over breakfast in their sunny breakfast room overlooking the river in their adjoining house. We stayed in a beautiful room overlooking a delightful cobbled garden square just minutes from the river and from the centre of old Bergerac with all of its restaurants. So generous to provide guests with their own shared kitchen with tea, coffee, fridge facilities. Will definitely return.

Room Tip: The top floor bedroom has best access to wifi. Parking was easily available when we visited - end S...

Just back from a perfect week at Le Logis Plantagenet with a friend. Bruce and Rosetta were exceptional hosts and nothing was too much trouble for them. We didn't have transport, so they organised taxis for us or suggested trips nearby, even taking us for a ride themselves one afternoon. Our room was stylishly decorated, clean and overlooking the beautiful old square. We loved having breakfast all together with the other guests as it made meeting other people so much easier. I would highly recommend a visit here if you want to hear some wonderful stories of their life in France and around the world. They are amusing raconteurs with excellent taste in antique furnishings. The house is situated in the old town a stone's throw from the river and excellent nearby restaurants.

We stayed at this quiet and pleasant house for few days and enjoyed the tasteful decor and hospitality.
Lovely to have breakfast with your hosts in their beautiful courtyard and have their useful tips for excursions and restaurants.
Highly recommended for discerning visitors, interested in visiting the historic Chateaux, Vineyards and beautiful country side.

Lovely couple, beautiful and clean room. Also very stylish furnishings throughout. We spent a glorious week enjoying breakfast in the court yard with our hosts and other guests. The parking is free across the road. Being situated in the old town with the river what more could you want! What sets this apart is having a guest lounge and kitchen to read and unwind at the end of a busy day. many thanks to our hosts once again, we will return

We stayed at Le Logis Plantagenet immediately after our wedding at the end of July. It was so easy to get to, had ample free parking close by and the location couldn't have been better for exploring Bergerac and the Dordogne.
Despite arriving after 10 pm our hosts were happy to spend time showing us our room and settling us in. The room was light and spacious, very comfortable and had a pretty view over the medieval Place de Mirpe. We had breakfast at 9am most mornings in our hosts' beautiful courtyard garden. It was lovely to meet so many interesting people and to start the day having had a leisurely talk over a proper continental breakfast (fresh local croissants -yum). Our hosts, Bruce and Rosetta, were happy to offer recommendations about where to spend our days if we lacked inspiration, so we made full use of their knowledge of the area.
Sadly our week in Bergerac was quickly over but we could easily have stayed another week enjoying the sunshine, food and ambience.
We would have no hesitation on recommending Le Logis Plantagenet to others
