There is something for everyone on this menu so it is always top of the list of restaurants to take visitors to Bergerac. The service is very attentive but never intrusive and the food is carefully prepared. If I am to have a criticism it is that the servings are sometimes a little too generous and there is often no appetite for dessert.

We are fortunate enough to be able to visit this part of France every year from Melbourne. This year just after Xmas we were able to follow up on a friends suggestion that we should visit L'Imparfait. It was a cold Sunday and the restaurant had a cosy wood fire in an attractive historic building. We were warmly welcomed and the service was very good overall. The maitre'd speaks English well. The menus is not extensive but everything we ordered was excellent and as we visited the place the following Sunday too, between our group, we tried quite a number of dishes. It would unfair to mention any but I have to say the beef cheeks and the scallops were outstanding. And then I also have to mention the cafe gourmand. My wife is a great fan of cafe gourmand and she said ( both times) that it was the best she has had! I understand in the summer this place books out quickly and sometimes service is a bit slow. For us we had no complaints and very reasonable prices too. A definite new favourite for us from now on.

Alain and Brigitte never fail with their advice and courtesy. We have been visiting this restaurant consistently for last 10 yrs as a family and with friends. We have never been disappointed with the range of choice and quality of service.Reasonably priced with varied menu of regional specialities and wines. A must visit if you are in Bergerac area.Alain speaks excellent english also for those of you not yet proficient in Le francais.

Difficult to choose your meal - it all looks so good. Service tends to be slow - which is fine if you're not going for a flight afterwards; we were. Best to book a table for 12noon and get there promptly - whether or not you have a flight or train to catch. Nice to eat on the terrace - actually the pedestrian street as the interior has always struck us as rather gloomy. Not cheap but good price-quality. I should perhaps have said THE place to eat on a special occasion. We shall be back there again this summer. Altho' I have said we were there as a family - it was with our adult son, not young children. Not really the place for them
