I've read the negative reviews to date, but in our case our lunch today was superlative. About the only things in the negative reviews that strike any kind of chord are the comments on the sense of humour - or lack thereof - of Madame la serveuse, and on the decor, which is a bit of cottagey-cliché.
The two waiters who saw to us were polite, unobtrusive and there exactly when needed. The maître at the caisse was very warm and endlessly apologetic when the crest card machine failed twice while we were paying.
Our lunch, the menu de €19,90, was easily one of the best we have had in many trips to France. My wife's croustillante de Camembert was a large, very tasty salad and my moules au gratin was equally good. Me wife's plat, a pavé de saumon, may have been a rich overcooked, but that was counterbalanced by a mouth watering sauce. My confit de canard was exactly the way it should be: the flesh soft and succulent and the skin crisp and crackling, with no excess fat and no gristle at all. The dessert, a tarte au pommes accompanied by ice cream and a light crème, was delicious. I won't try to describe the different flavours and aromas that we truly enjoyed.
All in all a five star food experience.
