Moulin De Larcy is a tranquil piece of paradise and we can't wait to go back. The setting is picturesque, the surrounding area beautiful french countryside and the accommodation is excellent. We stayed in the Angelica apartment which was beautifully decorated in neutral tones and little touches that make it feel welcoming and homely - not cold and impersonal like self catering accommodation can be. Anita and Simon are excellent hosts - warm and welcoming, available when you need them but discrete and unobtrusive when you don't. Anita's cooking is superb! Breakfast came in a basket with ample breads, honey, ham, eggs - every day a delightful selection of different breakfast goodies. You can get dinner served in the apartment upon request, which I would recommend as it was excellent on the 2 occasions we did - restaurant standard (good restaurant that is!!).

Our travel tips: there is an honesty bar with beers and wine at a very reasonable price and a more extensive wine list available. Good coffee and fresh milk was provided but if you want to stock up yourself there is an Aldi supermarket just a few minutes drive away for getting essentials and a couple of other supermarkets in nearby Riberac. The kitchen was well stocked with equipment for self catering but we would highly recommend sampling Anita's cooking.

We stayed in La Lavendula, which is one of the ground floor suites in Le Moulin. It is without doubt the most beautiful and serene location we saw in France. We found ourselves sitting out on the balcony watching the river flow from beneath the building and listening to the rush, for what seemed like hours. It is truly mesmerising and totally relaxing. The room was beautifully furnished and it is very spacious. There is a well equipped kitchen and we were able to do some self catering. Anita prepared a beautiful dinner for us on our first night and it could have been served in a top notch restaurant anywhere in the world. Breakfast comes in a basket delivered to the door with a rose on top and on Easter Sunday we also found chocolate eggs. We did not get to meet Simon, but Anita is a charming host. We did not want to leave this little paradise and have already placed it on the must return list for our next trip.

Room Tip: Just go there.

We stayed at the Moulin in 2011 for 3 weeks and again in July 2013 for 3 weeks. We love the beauty and tranquillity of the river, the gardens and the apartments.
It is one of those places you stay in that you hesitate to recommend in case it becomes booked out. It is that good that you want to keep it to yourself.
If you like excellent but discreet service , beautiful quiet surroundings, and immaculate interiors then we would highly recommend.

Each beautiful apartment overlooks the river. The river sparkles with health and vitality and is home to a wide variety of birds and wildlife, so the view is always changing.

Anita and Simon have a passion for the property and that shines through in everything they do. Anita is a qualified refloxolgist and massage therapist and her treatments are heavenly. Simon is an interior designer and it shows in the decoration of the interiors. Evening dinner is provided in one's own apartment if requested and the food is delicious.

There is a lovely woman called Rasheed who cleans the apartments every day if you wish. She is great fun if you engage with her , but will be discreet if you don't wish to.

One leave's the Moulin feeling better than when they arrived having experienced relaxation, beauty and lovely people.

Room Tip: The second floor apartment has stunning views from the terrace.

We were pleasantly surprised on our arrival at how beautiful the hotel was. The apartment was nicely furnished and very clean.
When we awoke in the morning a basket of fruit, breads and meat was at our door. The basket as covered with a linen cloth and a rose. It was a nice surprise. We also enjoyed the beautiful gardens and seeing the river passing under the building.
The owners of the hotel were Simon and Anita who were very pleasant to converse with.
We would highly recommend staying with them

Anita and Simon are the perfect hosts and if you are looking for peace and tranquility Moulin de Larcy is the place for you. Anita's attention to detail is wonderful; the breakfast basket filled with beautifully baked bread and Anita's pure honey from her bees. Also you can eat supper on your own private terrace which has been cooked by Anita and Simon.

Room Tip: We had the second floor apartment which was spacious as it had a large terrace which one could use f...

Wonderful, tranquil setting, with beautiful rooms and perfect hosts Simon and Anita. Highly recommended if you're looking for complete relaxation. It is also great base from which to explore some fascinating Dordogne villages and towns.

Lovely hosts (Anita and Simon) made us feel so at home without being in any way obtrusive.

The place itself is indescribably picturesque; the buildings are surrounded by water, its music everywhere. We saw kingfishers. Simon taught my grandson, who visited us for a day, to fish.

The rooms are super-luxurious, beautifully designed and very comfortable.

It was our Golden Wedding and we could not have found a more welcoming or beautiful place to spend it.

Room Tip: All are stunning
