This hotel is not going to win any praises for its architecture. However the pluses are:
Double glazed and secondary glazed - to my horror I was given a room over the front entrance of the hotel facing the main street and railway station. It was extremely hot and humid outside. And yet with both sets of windows closed and the aircon on full blast (down to 19C - and not centrally controlled nor does it switch off when you leave your room), I had four quiet nights in a comfortable room.
Location - great for the mainline station - its just across the road. Great for the town centre - Place Louis XIV is literally 5 mins walk and there is an excellent restaurant around the corner - Chez Kako. Great for getting out of town - you are on a service road running parallel to the main road.
Super breakfast - bacon, eggs, croissants, bread, yoghurts, juices - you'll want for nothing.
Negatives? - rooms rather small, probably need refurbishing soon. Make sure that you keep the bathroom door closed then you won't hear what's coming down the pipes from above.
But for the money? You wont get anything better in SJdL.More
